Best historical team would still have to be the Yankees. Besides the 26 World Series Championships, they are just a powerhouse in professional baseball. 9 consecutive American League East Pennants with this current installment of the Yankees and over 36 American League Pennants won.
Their tradition of being committed to winning and their tradition of winning. Heck, just the tradition of the players they have had on the team...Ruth, DiMaggio, Bera, Gherig, Mantle, Jackson, Mattingly, Jeter, A-Rod...the list goes on and on.
You can love 'em or you can hate 'em, but what they Yankees have accomplished historically is nothing short of amazing.

I believe the Best team in the history of baseball was the Philadelphia A’s. Here are my reasons. Between the years 1901-1954 they won 5 world championships and 9 pennants under Connie Mack the most wins of any coach in Baseball (he also has the most loses) they won the Pennant in their second year. They would build a great team and have to dismantle it due to high payroll, ever so often. They had over 23 hall of famers play on the A in the 53 years in Philadelphia. Oh and they actually had to beat the best (the 20 something Yankees in 29, 30 and 31 to win the Pennant and World Series and beat them by 18 16 and 13 games to win the pennant)How do you qualify as a rookie in major league baseball?
