What is the most times a pitcher can walk another team in 1 inning without any runs being scored?
Question:please explain
Answers:
Whats better a hitters park or a pitchers park?
five. Walk three guys and load the bases, then get two of them out, and walk two more to load the bases again. none have scored, and there are two outs, so another walk will score a run, and an out will end the inning. Those guys saying six are technically right, but it would never happen as a runner is not going to miss home plate on a walk. That sixth walk WOULD result in a run.
The only way a runner would not touch home plate would be extreme stupidity or some sudden health condition that would prevent him from reaching the plate, in which case a runner could be designated to finish the trot home for him.
I need a softball team name for a men's team made up of a bunch of random guys.?
Infinite if he picks them all off base.Well, it is true.
Ok. I see my error. He could only pick off three and the inning would be over. My apologies please accept. My brain must have been mush yesterday. I yield to those who are right. I agree 5 is the most. tw
Whats your favorite sport to see?
5Walk the first three hitters which makes the bases loaded. Pick two runners off of the base. This would leave one runner on base which means two bases would be open. You could then walk two more battesr and load the bases again. Now you either have to get an out or a run will score.
5, but the pitcher would have to retire some of them on the base paths.
It can happen. Years ago, Tippy Martinez did just that. In a game in Baltimore, against the Blue Jays, Martinez came in to pitch in extra innings. By this time, Earl Weaver had pretty much exhausted his bench, in an attempt to win, and had some players playing out of their normal positions. That's why Lenn Sakata was catching. Martinez walked the first batter he faced, and then managed to pick him off. He did the same with the second batter he faced, and then the third as well.
After the game, he was asked why he kept going for the player ant first and his reply was along the lines of he had looked around the infield and the only face he recognized was that of Eddie Murray. The Orioles pushed a run across in the bottom of the inning, which ended the game.
Obviously, though, he could have first walked the bases loaded and then started picking off players and walking more of them.
For the record, enders_knight is completely ignoring the note that clarifies 7.04(b) of the rulebook.
Is it the Cubs year? and if so give reasons.?
5.Walk three to load the bases, pick two of them off of a base, walk two more to re-load the bases. That's a total of five, and none have scored.
Can any one plz tell me where i can listen live to mlb games for free?
Theoretically They could actually walk 6 Before a run scored. You could walk the Bases Loaded, then get 2 of those runners out while trying to steal, then Proceed to walk 2 more Batters.
Now you've walked 5 and have the Bases Loaded with 2 Outs.
You can Now walk the 6th Batter, a run will move to score..But a Walk is still an Active play. If any of the walking players attempts to steal an extra base on the walking play, which is Legal to attempt, before the Run has been recorded, it ends the inning Scoreless, with 6 Walks.
It is also required the scoring player actually touch the plate before leaving the playing field, so if he failed to touch the plate, He's also out without scoring.
So, 6 Walks
What does wbo on an autographed baseball mean?
You can walk five batters. It is feasible for a pitcher to walk the bases loaded (three batters), and one of the runners gets picked off, or is thrown out at home trying to advance, another batter can be walked to load them again (number four). Then, another runner gets thrown out advancing or otherwise, and another batter is walked (number five). Another walk scores a run and another out ends the inning.Final Answer- five batters.
The guy who says six is wrong. In order to steal an extra base on a sixth walk, a run would HAVE to score because the bases were loaded. On a bases loaded walk, the runner on third is AWARDED home. Hence, the run has already scored. He is right when he says you can try to steal an extra base, but by the time that happens, if it does, the run will have scored.
Worst offseason signing so far?
6 is correct. On a bases-loaded walk, the runner on third is actually awarded the RIGHT to advance to home and score, but the run is not automatic. So if this runner fails to touch home, he would be called out and the run would not score. What's wrong with the Yankee starters?
