How would the Yankees do without Alex Rodriguez?
Question:That is,taking his stats into consideration, would the yankees be better off, worst off, or indiffirent if we didnt have A-Rod, would someone else "step up" to the bat?
Just wondering, it is a discussion I have with friends. I personally feel he is overpayed and arrogant. i feel the Yanks could pull through without him.

How many saw the giants-dodgers game tonight?
they would lose out on a lot of homeruns and rbi, but they would find someone, whether it be from their farm system or a veteran free agent to hold the position down and they would maybe go to a different strategy for winning games, e.g. more speed on the bases, squeeze plays, etc... they would still be the yankees and they would be fine with or without alex rodriguez.Who was better in their prime Babe Ruth or Willie Mays?
They would just hire someone else and do fine. The Yankees, unlike many teams, can just throw money at the problem. This often works for them.Which is the more successful baseball franchise, the oakland athletics, or the sf giants, and why?
I love A-rod, but they would be fine, in fact, I think it is safe to say they may have done better before he was on the team. How do you think the MLB would be like now?
Well, I think only an idiot would really believe that they would be better or the same without A-Rod. I mean, seriously, the guy has had OPS years of .887, 1.031, and .915 since coming to New York, and he won the MVP award a couple of years ago. To think that they'd pull someone from the bench or minor leagues to carry the slack is ridiculous, given how far above the league average A-Rod plays. He might be overpaid, arrogant, stiff and stilted in interviews, maybe even a little phony. However, that doesn't take away from the incredible, HOF numbers he puts up. To think that the Yanks would be just as good with a Scott Brosius-type replacing him is outrageous.
The Yanks wouldn't collapse without him because of their other offensive pieces - Giambi, Damon, Jeter, Matsui, etc. - but they'd certainly be worse off for losing him.
Do you think that Barry Bonds is the greatest of all time?
Their offense is deep enough that they could still win games without Alex Rodriguez. They still could make the playoffs without him. It won't matter all that much. They still would get bounced in the divisional round anyway simply because they don't hit when it counts. Even with Alex Rodriguez they don't hit in the post season so no big deal. They would just have one less ego on the team. What's the best book about sabermetrics?
I completely agree with Craig S. Of course the Yankees wouldn't be better off with Arod. Sure, they could fine another player, but never one as good. Sure, they might win their games, but no by as much. I really doubt the Yankees would be better off with Arod. And besides he's so HOT! Just look at his eyes. He's got it all!!Will barry bond's giants finish in last place? i hope so!?
Hard to say. I do know that the fans would have to find something/someone new to boo at!Do you think the New York Yankee game will be played today, April 4?
We will find out next year. You can be certain tho that they will be worse if they do not bring in a couple bats to make up for the loss.Which is the worse of the 2 NY Yankees failures.?
they would lose a lot of power but the Yankees have plenty of money they would just buy someone elseHow can I listen or watch the yankees games online without paying $$?
A lot Better, A-Rod must Stay in the Bronx, Because I"M A TRUE RED SOX FAN, Yankees Suck more with A_FRAUD then Derek Cheater.LOL
What is Derek Jeters entrance song?
I'm sure the Yankees would survive without him.It appears that people often forget that the Texas Rangers gave A-Rod this huge contract. The Yankees traded Soriano for him and inherited that contract.
A-Rod is a great player and i love him. I think that the Yankees would do fine without him but I really dont think thats he's going anywhere just yet. GO A-ROD!! GO YANKEES!!
The only real "curse" in baseball today is the curse of A-Rod. Just ask the Mariners and the Rangers. The Yankees are in the middle of it, too, and they don't seem to realize just how long and how deep this one runs.
They would do ABSOLUTELY FINE!
I think they would do fine a-rod is not needed in the mlb
