Don't get too excited last place this time of year means nothing....This is why 162 games are played and until you get to the dog days of august the games won't mean anything.I know you are a red sox fan and you are still floating on cloud nine from 2004 but what you have to realise is the your beloved red sox were one inning away from being swept by the yankees in 2004 and the world series would never have been. That following year the Washington Nationals were 6 games ahead in the National League East on July 4th and didn't even make that playoffs. Don't even worry about the mets it's the cardinals you have to worry about. Granted what happened yesterday was great but lets keep it real with the saying "It ain't over til it's over" I belive a yankee named Berra said that. The biggest concern as a Yankee fan is Rivera blowing his 2nd save in a row. Other than that, you had to expect the Sox would win at least 2 out of 3 looking at the pitching matchups.
Yes, it's only April and that just means we are only going to get better. This series just gave this team a lot of confidence. Yankees are hurting? Geez, I don' t remember the Yankees fans being so understanding and sympathetic when they swept us five straight last summer against our triple A pitching staff. No excuses. This weekend will definitely prove who the better team in the AL east really is when Boston doesn't use their three aces and still beats them in the Bronx.
