Why do pitchers in baseball use resin?

There are two major types of radar guns. One measures the pitch speed as it leaves the pitcher's hand, and the other as it crosses the plate. They are referred to as the fast and the slow gun, respectively, as pitch speed is slowed by the mechanical resistance of the air. Either one can be used.

What baseball team do you cheer for?

Usually the speed they show or tell you on TV is the speed of the ball crossing the plate.

Pick for the active MLB players...Name your dream MLB team?

Its acutually in front of the plate about 3 feet. The reason is cause if the batter swings a moment too soon,, the gun will pick-up the bat speed instead. The bat speed is slower.
