Huge Baltimore fan, may sound wierd, but Orioles..any chance of 2nd place or wild card team?

Question:Revamped bullpen, additions of Aubrey Huff and Jay Payton, and when Jay Payton and Ramon Hernandez comes back, they have a well balanced lineup that can hit!

Answers:

Who do you think is the best on the mets?

Ummm... no. As a Yankee fan, i will acknowledge that they're a much improved team from last year, especially in their pitching. But they just can't compete with the Jays, Sox, or the Yanks. Maybe in a year or two if things go well.

So, has anyone else noticed how AMAZING the MIlwaukee Brewers have been doing?

maybe 2nd...maybe nut no way on the wild card, the wild card will come from the AL central either Detroit, Minny, or the Chisox

What can i do...?

Nope sorry.

Yankees in East

Red Sox Wild Card.

There's always next year.

In baseball what do you think is the most needed attribute to become a great player besides?

I like the Orioles, too. (I live closer to D.C., though, so the Nats are my first team.) I think the AL East will be topped by NY and Boston, although I'm not sure which will be first.

I'm coaching a youth girls softball team, ages 11,12,&13. They can hit the ball at practice. But not at games.

yes they have a good on being in the wild, with their line up I don't think anyone can ignore them anymore and when all stay healthy and play together they can make a run, so keep hope alive and don't listen these redsux and yankees fans, this could be your year. stay tune.

How can I get a fitted baseball hat to shrink so that it fits my head?

Honestly? No. The Yankees offense is still powerful, and can cover the injuries to the rotation. The Red Sox SP are 4 deep with talent, plus their offense is great as well. Both the Yankees and Red Sox play well in clutch situations, and when either team is leading in the 9th, it's lights out with Rivera/Papelbon. The O's need better SP and another big bat if they want to contend. This is Huff's 3rd team in 3 years. That says something about a player. Payton is in the same boat.

Dodgers Prospects?

Second place in the same division as the Red Sox, Blue Jays and Yankees? I'd say no. I think the wild card is coming out of the Central division anyway. The Yankees have a much better offense than the Orioles, and the Red Sox have a better pitching staff, with a MUCH improved and HEALTHY rotation and with Papelbon at the back end of the bullpen to close out games. I'm picking the Red Sox to win the division with either the Blue Jays or Yankees second. Only one team from this division will make the playoffs though. The Orioles could surprise and take third place, but I wouldn't expect much more than that in a tough division.

1990's Braves' Pitching Staff: Dominate?

Lol no, Orioles suck balls.

Why are the giants so boring to watch?

Do the Orioles have a chance? Technically yes. But I don't favor the odds of them leapfrogging Toronto, Boston and or NY at this point.

The Orioles so far fundementally sound hitting ballclub. From what I've the offense overall seems to be more disciplined at the plate than what I've seen out of them in years past. Most of players will work the count, and force the pitcher to labor until they get a pitch that they like. I see this trend more often than maybe 3 or 4 seasons ago.

Not to mention that they seem to get contributions out of everyone that they plug into the line-up. It seems like that for most of the games that the Orioles have won, a few of the big hits have come from the players that aren't big names like Paul Bako, Freddie Bynum, Chris Gomez.

The bullpen is extremely solid, and works well as a unit. So far with Jamie Walker, Chad Bradford, Dannys Baez added to the mix, the effort put into improving the bullpen in the off-season has payed off. So far the bullpen has only lost 2 games (and one was a 12 inning game to the Tigers, with a 1-1 score going into that inning).

As for the starters:
Daniel Cabrera is starting to "get it" this season. He has cut down his walks dramatically, and I was at Orioles opening day, when he started against Detroit. He had that 97 MPH fastball still going strong in the 7th inning. With the type of potential Cabrera has, a Cabrera with good indurance and good control can mean long games for Orioles opponants.

Erik Bedard is solid with quality stuff, and he's always a threat to go deep into a ballgame. He's not much of a concern to me.

Question marks:

I'm hoping that Adam Loewen can continue to develope. The Orioles will benefit and stability out of him if they hope to improve their odds of competing. He had a good game in NY that he got the W for. However in Tampa Bay he only lasted 4 innings, and was bailed out by the hitters and the bullpen in that first game of the series.

Trachsel concerns me a bit, he's a good veteran pitcher, but the knock on him is that he will get hit and give up a few runs. Usually it's still enough to keep his teams in the game, but with the potent offenses of the AL east, I'm hoping he can keep the runs to a minimum.

Jaret Wright seems solid so far, being back with pitching coach Mazzone seems to be helping him a lot. I won't be surprised to see him fair better in an Orioles uniform, than being under the pressure of wearing a Yankees uniform.

The defense is a bit sketchy at times, there where some blunders in the TB series. However in the outfeild we've all ready seen players get robbed by Corey Patterson, and Nick Markakis. Markakis also has a very strong throwing arm and is all ready partially resonsible for a couple of runners being thrown out at home-plate this early in the season.

That's basically what I see out of the Orioles. Do I favor their odds of stealing away a post-season spot, no. Do I think they will give the Yankees and Red Sox bigger problems this year in head-on games, as opposed to last year? YES.

Do you think that the fact that Barry Bonds is having such a great season proves he didn't do steroids?

They have a very good starting nine and a solid pen. I'm just not sold on the rotation after Bedard. Until they can get another impact starter, I don't think that they can pass the Bosox or Yankees in the standings.

Yankees stadium bleacher creatures?

No way sparky.Red Sox in first.Jays get the wild card.
