Aaron already said he will not show up. Bonds will probably break it, and ESPN will want us all to think it is a glorious thing, but I will not be watching that game! Bonds is a cheat, and I pray that he will not break it, but it is only a matter of time. I just pray (but it will happen) that ESPN and other outlets will not make this sound like a good thing.

I don't think he will this year. He doesn't play enough; he only gets a couple at-bats a game, at best - the Giants want to keep him "healthy" for the whole season.

Also, he isn't his old self. He's still got some pop, but he's just old. If he decides to play next year (which I think he will) he will probably break the record sometime next year (early to mid-season, I suppose.)

So yes, he will break the record, unless something drastic happens to his health.

Others said that he already said Aaron won't show up: I did not know this. Aaron was never a man who would seem to hold a grudge, but it is understandable. Bonds is NOT the one I want to break Aaron's record; Griffey Jr. should have done it (if he would have stayed healthy.)

1) He said he wasnt going to come and he shouldnt have to he is 70 years old and lives in Florida, he doesnt need to be traveling all around the country to be present for a HR.
2) I don't think that past record holders really are indebted to be present when it is broken. Mark McGuire wasnt there when Bonds broke the single season mark. And McGuire was retired by then.

He won't break it, ever. Even if he comes close, Aaron is on record as saying he won't be there. Why should he? There was a great sign last year, I think in Atlanta. It said "Ruth did it on hot dogs and beer. Aaron did it with class, Bonds does it with steroids". Barry will definitely break the record after the All Star Break, but why is everyone saying Hank Aaron will not show up because of the performance enhancing drug scandal anyways? That's not the reason. He has no obligation to attend the record breaking game because it will no longer be his record. Also, if I had a Las Vegas or Florida golfing trip, I'd go there before attending a baseball game. Hank is an adult and does not need fans to make his mind up for him.

As for the record, I'd be shocked if Barry didn't break it sometime mid-summer. The only problem I can see stopping him would be an injury.
