Does pitching a perfect game automatically get a pitcher into the Hall of Fame?

What is theNewton's law of motion in softball?
No. It helps, but one game doesn't make you a hall-of-famerWould oldtime ball players make it in todays media frenzy?
Nope not at all. It just means they retired all 27 batters in a row in ONE game. Getting into the HOF takes a CAREER that is at the top level. Here's a link to all the perfect games in MLB history: http://www.teambios.com/baseball's%20per...David Cone, Kenny Rogers, Mike Witt and David Wells are on that list. I really doubt ANY of those guys will even get close to 1/2 the votes needed to get into the HOF.
>> Update to Willie G: Thanks for clarifying. I knew that, just didn't type it in the way it should have been... but you are also incorrect, as a perfect game also means no errors. ;-)
no..it is based on your body of work
David Wells nor David Cone will be a hall of famer.
Other than in the American League in MLB where else is the DH used?
No. You have to be voted in and are not eligible for election until 7 years after you retire from the game.(Professional sportswriters vote annually.)
umm no.
Does anyone know who the marketing guy is at the White Sox?
No.The Hall of Fame is about your career as a whole, and the ballot includes a morals clause.
Pitching a perfect game, even a no hitter, does mean that the HOF will ask for some souvenir from the pitcher, his shoes, jersey, cap, whatever. It will be used as a part of the exhibit covering that particular season, and that particular season, for whatever reason, can be featured at any time in the future.
Who would you rather have as your franchise player. David Wright or miguel Cabrera?
no.. but el refe a perfect game isnt retiring all 27 batters in a row because thats what buerle did last night.. a perfect game is no BB's and no H's.buerle allowed a walk to sosa but picked him off so..
How do you think the Yankees will do this year?
Absolutely not. There is certain criteria voters look for when selecting hall of famers. Overall contribution to the game, 300 wins, 3000 strikeouts, many world series championships, Cy Young awards, etc. Perfect games, unless someone throws like 5 of them, is not used as a criteria.U get recognition cuz they are rare but u have to have a great career to get in the HOF
Tom Browning pitched a perfect game, and he is far from a Hall of Famer.
How did the Twins choke so bad last year?
No but can be considered...they have to have a full career along with that perfect game.not really but almost always is a one way ticket
