Why did San Francisco get the All-Star Game in 2007?
Question:The traditon has been that the NL and AL have alternated cities each year. Pittsburgh, a NL city hosted it in 2006, so why is S.F., another NL city hosting it this year rather than an AL city?

I don't know if there's a really good reason for breaking the tradition, but there was some speculation that MLB did it to help the Giants' season-ticket base. This was the first season where club-level ticket holders didn't have the price protection they'd had as charter season-ticket holders at the new park, and their prices shot up by 40%. However, there are always scheduling problems with these large stadiums because of other events that are held and it is not always possible to achieve exactly what they would like. The bigger issue is to make sure that every major league city has a chance to host the game on a (30) year cycle. The All-Star game brings in a considerable amount of revenue for the city and gives fans the opportunity to see players that they might not have another opportunity to see
