Tim Duncan is playing out of position Mr power center was dub a forward only because he started out with David Robinson .No one can really say that Duncan is the best power forward in the NBA because one can't judge how good a player is based on the games played in the NBA. Duncan is certainly one of the best power forwards in the NBA as we seen time and time again in his consistency. He is also very fortunate to be surrounded by a complementary cast in Parker, Ginobilli, Bowen, Oberto, etc... One player that comes to my mind that wasn't so fortunate is Kevin Garnett. He is also one of the best power forward. Is Duncan better than KG? We can't really tell unless they play one on one, but that only covers the scoring aspect of the game.

It hurts to say it but he will be at the end of his career. Think about you guys are saying Bird, Malone and so forth. Duncan still has many great years ahead of him. He might even pass the torth at the end of his playing career, just like Robinson did for him. I think he will finish with at least 5 rings.

for right now it's Karl Malone... but when it's all said and done you won't be able to deny what Duncan has done...Right Now Malone has the most 1st team all NBA selections of any player in history, and 14 total which is second to Jabbar. But... Duncan is more complete has been All NBA and All defensive nearly every year of his career. He is really still the best defender in the nba and by far the best player with his back to the basket.
Malone is a better scorer but benefited from John Stockton for an entire career.
When it's all said and done... Duncan and his 3+ titles will be the best ever.
Some say that he is the best defender in the NBA, I don't agree. He is a very good weak side defender where he comes off of his man to block another players shot. That being said Kiralenko from the Jazz is the same way. His on the ball defense isn't as great. He is definately one of the Top 5 of all time. I mean you have Karl Malone, Kevin McHale, Barkley, Garnett, Bob Pettit, Elvin Hayes, Dave DeBusschere, and so on. I mean with out the guys that came before ther ewould be no Tim Duncan. Oh not to mention that he is a center. The only reason people call him a power forward is because of the time he spent playing with David Robinson.
