Does anyone think the Lakers will be able to compete in the West with Kobe? If so, who do they get in a trade?
Question:Now that that Portland and Seattle will take Oden and Durant, the Lakers will have more comp in the West. The way I see it, the teams better than the Lakers for the next couple years will be the following:
Phoenix
Dallas
San Antonio
Utah
Houston
Denver
Golden State
Portland
Clippers
New Orleans
Maybe Seattle and Minnesota
What do they need to do in order to keep up in the West? They need a trade and need to drop some big salaries. At least the Celtics play in a horrible conference and their 30+ wins yearly can get them in the playoffs. Sound off people.

How did Wilmer Valderrama get to stay in the US?
Ok, I've had some time to think about this season of disappointment and have come up with the following ideas for change...1. GM Mitch "Cupcake" Kupchak is outta here!
2. Phil Jackson has lost the “Eye of the Tiger”. Buy him out of his contract and bring up Michael “COOP” Cooper from the Sparks to coach or if possible make B. Scott an offer.
3. Move “Magic” or Kurt “Rambo” Rambis to the GM spot with the newly freed up Jerry West as a consultant.
2. Odom, yes Odom should be traded. IMO he’s too inconsistent but marketable enough for a big time trade for some key personnel. For God sakes get this team some “rebounders” and long range shooters.
3. Kwame, Cook, Smush, Turiaf, GONE!
4. One word, GARNETT
5. Bulk up the young Bynum during the off-season in “big-man” camp. Mihm should be healthy by then and I think may be able to contribute but tradeable if he doesn't.
6. Try to keep Walton (he’s the “firestarter”)
7. Keep Radmanovic away from the slopes.
8. I like keeping Farmar at the point and Sasha off the bench. I think we should stay away from signing an aging free agent guards like Kidd or Payton.
9. I am not opposed to maybe a 1 year contract to someone like the free agent veteran Mourning who has a lil’ something to bring to the table.
10. Keep Kobe happy and get him involved with the team decisions (like Magic before him). 11 years, I think he may know something.
2008 may be a re-building year but it doesn’t have to be.
Who should the Hawks take with the 3rd pick?
NO!I think that Kobe needs to stop being such a baby and realize that he can't lead their team by himself. He needs to at least get some key players, if not some superstars to help him lead their team to victory. Lakers were a great team until Kobe forced everybody out. He needs to share the team and realize that it can't always be about him every second. I think that their new point guard out of UCLA, Jordan Farmar, is the future if he stays because Phil realizes that he can't deal with Smush Parker and Farmar is staring to develop nicely. Hopefully Phil can make it happen and get at least some key players that will help them out in the long run.
Theirs nothing the Lakers can do to pull of a Chapionship team those days are OVER and people need to get over it to. The only way that the Lakers can be the best again is if they get Shaq back and Robert Horry, Deavon George, and all those really big stars besides Kobe is getting to old and dosen't have much gas left the tank, by that i mean he's getting old and well time is running out on him. Lakers better do something good and they need to make it fast !!!!!
Does anyone think Yao Ming is overrated?
i really like Koby...the one issue is that he does not trust his team mates. if he had a cast around him that he could trust the team he would play for would be a contender for the chamionship.Which NBA team should i go for?
yea get rid of Kwamekeep
farmar
odom
kobe
walton
bynum
maybe get another veteran with Kobe
cam
What BBall player is 3 third in line for highest personal score in a game WILT 100, KOBE 81, ? 71?
they will probably get garnett in a trade and then be a good team!Who do you think is going to win it all in the NBA championship?
Some how I doubt the entire Western Conference is going to be better than the Lakers! Yes it is very obvious they need to get to work and start making some trades. And you seriously cant expect them to ever trade Kobe. We are is desperate need for some big name players and a descent point guard. With some work and TIME I believe that the Lakers will soon claim their status as legitimate team in the West.Go Lakers!!
