Why does everyone keep saying Kobe is to selfish to play with another star player?
It took Jordan almost 10 years to realize the same thing! First title wasnt until the 1991-92 season! He was just as cocky and arrogant as kobe is. Plus it took the Bulls just as long to put the supporting cast together to accomodate Mike!

Patrick Patterson has to choose in 9 days, who do you think it will be and why?
It took Jordan a long time, but it was closer to like 6 since he was a rookie in 85.Nonetheless people have been entrapped by Shaq's media friendly personality, but the truth is that Shaq was threatened by Kobe's drive and passion for the game so he tried to make it seem like that was selfishness, and that Kobe was the reason for the Lakers trading him. Well, when you have to look at the financial side of it, what would you do? Keep two 30 million men? Impossible to do. Keep the older guy at 30 million a year, but a man who has missed an average of 15 games a year and was getting fat and lazy? Or keep the kid who wanted to win more than anyone on the team, and who was four or five years younger? Shaq and the Heat struck the lottery last year, but it was totally luck that happened. Kobe and Shaq won three titles together so it is not unlikely that Kobe could play with another superstar and win multiple titles either. Of course, if Shaq had just been a little less threatened and just openly given up more of the offense to the young buck, Kobe--like Kareem did before the 1987 season when Riley approached him and told him more of the scoring opportunities were going to go to Magic instead of him, and Kareem willingly accepted Riley's orders--then the Lakers might've won five in a row.
Now that the Mavericks have lost again this year?
Kobe is a selfish player. Oh yea, hes also a rapist.Who do you think is gonna win the NBA championship??
i dont think he would be selfish the only reson he is now is cause he doesnt have any one to pass toWhat's a double-double, triple-double?
People forget he got along fine on the court with Shaquille O' Neal for all those years while winning championships. Kobe does control the ball alot but place people around him that can get the job done and it will all make sense and result in wins. There are alot so-called stars in the NBA that do not step up in big games or big moments in the game, such as Notwitski, Carter, McGrady, James, with Kobe you know at the very least he will take control in those situations. That leaves the other players to play their roles versus having them do something they are not used to or capable of.You're right, and not only that he had Scotty a player as good as any other player in the league except Michael and that was on offense as well as defense and then you top that off with the Iron Triangle which Chicago played to perfection finding & creating the open player, everything just fell into place with chicago becoming the best passing team as well...
Kobe has Kobe and it is totally unfair to expect him to carry the scoring, the defense and the team any further then he has and I am so surprised that sports writers don't give him due credit for getting his team as far as he has. I am surprised Phil hasn't returned to the triangle but the lakers need another top player to compliment Kobe to get them where they want to go.
Kobe drove out Shaq, Karl Malone, Gary Payton, Devean George, Robert Horry, Derek Fisher, and Rick Fox.
He wants to be MVP, and not Shaq. He wants to break all records not Shaq. Shaq still have the record for most FT made and attempted, and the most points, the most blocks, and the most rebounds in the Finals. Kobe wants the MVP, which he's never going to get until he finally realized he need to depend on his teammates not just on himself. He needs to pass the ball when the Lakers are winning, so his teammates can build confidence by sharing the glory of the win. Kobe has always hogged the ball when the team is winning so he can take the credit for the win, and be the hero. It's not "his" supporting cast, he needs to be the supporting cast. Look at D-Wade, his teammates love him. Can it be said of Kobe? Even his own coach hates him!
Kobe is a hero of a tragedy, a person with too much hubris! He'll grow up sooner or later. When he realize he can't keep up with younger players anymore, he'll be a team player. Kind of like Chris Webber...
Can Kobe play with another star? Not now. Kobe will once he "grows up." Kobe still have to play with the Jordon Jr. generation.
P.S. If Shaq wanted attention, he wouldn't have coexisted with D-Wade. Saying Shaq is jealous is retarded. Kobe sucks.
What team made the nba finals for the first time in franchise history in 2000?
Because he couldn't co-exist with Shaq after they won there third title together. He basically said to management, trade Shaq, or trade me. The rest is history. Ever since then Mr. Selfish hasn't had to share the spotlight, and the Lakers have dropped in the standings. They are no longer a title contender and it's all 100% Kobe's fault. So that's why people keep saying that about Kobe. Also, don't even come in here with comparing Kobe to MJ. That an insult to Michael Jordan, who was always all about winning, and nothing else (why else would he agree for Bulls management to bring on Dennis Rodman, who was his arch enemy for many years in Detroit. Kobe could have built a dynasty in LA with Shaq, to equal that of the Bulls, but he gave in to his ego instead.
Michael Jordan spent the early part of his career on a team with Coke Heads, journeymen and old men. They still made the playoffs and Jordan still hit FIFTY PERCENT OF HIS SHOTS! That is what matters. As a matter of fact it is the ONLY THING that matters on the offensive end of the court. "Somehow" the ball needs to go in almost exactly half the time or more OR YOU ARE NOT GOING TO WIN ANY CHAMPIONSHIPS. You probably won't win MOST of your regular season games.
I don't care how many times one guy shoots, AS LONG AS THE BALL GOES IN HALF OF THE TIME. I wouldn't have anything negative to say about Kobe if this were the case but the simple fact is he's not even close! Neither is Allen Iverson. They both better be glad the league is so full of inexperienced weed smoking clowns that are happy with being millionaires and don't mind losing in International competition. They wouldn't get a damned thing accomplished in the early 90's playing the style of basketball that they do. Okay, they would get even less accomplished than they do now.
Your 91-92 "realization" season for Jordan doesn't hold any water either. Michael Jordan handed out his most assists in 1988-89 (650 - 7.92 apg). Kobe HAS YET to hand out 500 in one single season (481 - 5.87 *his best so far). In all, Kobe needs 2000 more assists to catch Jordan in that respect. At his current rate, it will take him 5 more years. If you think he is going to get faster, smarter or jump higher in the next 5 years, boy are you wrong.
As a matter of fact, Jordan was JUST AS STINGY AS KOBE for the rest of his career. He just MADE HALF OF HIS SHOTS SO NO ONE GAVE HIM A HARD TIME BECAUSE THAT IS HOW MANY NEED TO GO IN TO WIN FREAKING BASKETBALL GAMES! (damn damn damn damn-you people are so hard headed)
I am not saying they are not great players (Kobe/Iverson). What I am saying is Kobe (and Iverson) take wild "AND 1" type shots. It isn't good basketball. It looks good on SportsCenter, but when you live in Southern California and actually SEE more games than elsewhere in the country you get to see it for what it is. If you know anything about basketball, oh that is part of the criteria too.
What's more, let's stop acting like MJ had a cast of "All Stars" around him during the championship years. He had decent utility players around him. If those guys were so "great", tell me which one of the Bulls went on to NBA "stardom" after those Bulls were dissolved? I'll wait... I have time... My IM is available on my profile... Holla when it comes to basketball I'm a scholar.
Pippen did "okay" but his shooting percentage was DOG DOO DOO after he left the Bulls. Now, who else besides Pippen did anything but STANK like old dog crap on the living room carpet? Nadie(not a damned soul)!
I say this kind of stuff because I am actually trying to help. Los Angeles (the city) has been hypnotized into believing that a top scorer can hit 45% of his shots and still be an effective team. THIS IS A LIE!
The media has sold all you people that no nothing about basketball this horsecrap about how "one guy" can singlehandedly lead his/her team to the "Promised Land". IT IS A DAMNED LIE unless the Promised Land is a freaking toilet.
You people need to let that mindset DIE! TEAM TEAM TEAM TEAM. It's about TEAM.
Should the "big Three" be broken up?
Yes,he is the selfisfiest player in the world. I don't like him,i'm sorry.Houston vs Utah Game 7? Who wins?
umm, maybe CUZ ITS TRUE? IM A DENVR GIRL N I HATE KOBE! HE IS A DIRTY PLAYER AND O, YA, DONT 4GET-HE'S A RAPIST! i dont even kno y he's still playing.last nite i saw a question, "do you like more, kobe or A.I.?" i wanted to puke w/ all teh kobe fans.i just wanted 2 add some stuff.look at shaq, look at d-wade. they dont care if they dont get mvp. they dont care if their stats arent the highest. looks 2 me that hmm.maybe they actually wanna play some freaking basketball! their team mates actually LIKE to play w/ them. that means in the end, A BETTER BASKETBALL TEAM. wen ur team cant play 2gether, um hello, no championship. its not ALL about skill...WEN U HAVE A CRAPPY PLAYER LIK KOBE ON THE COURT, THE CHAMPIONSHIP TEAM U WANT JSUT AINT GONNA HAPPEN. cmon guys...im a 7th grade girl and i kno this..
Who else thinks the NBA Screwed up again?
Kobe had the team, not just any team he had "THE TEAM". Shaq and company and he broke them up. Now he is getting what he deserves. His complaining at the seasons end was a joke he brought this on himself. And for you to compare Jordan situation vs Kobe is comletly ridiculous. Jordan did not come into the league to a team that was dominating already. Kobe did. Kobe has been sheltered through out his career. Kobe would have never won a championship with out Shaq. My god he has Lamar odem on his team now and he could not do anything. Any star would be crazy to go to the lakers. It would be the end of there career. having to play second fiddle to a nobody like kobe. So I think kobe is going to rott for a while.
So many of you keep saying the Spurs are boring--Why?
Concerned Consumer are you serious !? you and the other idiots above me are just making up excuses again, the person who asked this question is absolutely right about jordan and kobe. Shaq left because kobe was getting all the attention shaq wanted so he left, also shaq was not getting paid enough to stay with the lakers, so everyone else left because they knew they would not be able to win another championship without shaq.More Questions & Answers...
