How did dirk win the mvp ?
I think the only reason he won is because of his teams winning record, other than that I don't see how he won it. Kobe's stats are better than Dirk's but the lakers are not a good team beside kobe and lamar;and they were 42 - 40.

well, the MVP is a regular season award. and he did lead the mavs, not only in scoring, but also in rebounding. he also made his teammates look good. while for kobe, he only made himself look good. plus, if he did play as an MVP, then he would have led the lakers to a better record. their losing streaks started when luke walton got injured, thus disrupting their triangle offense. he should have stepped up. plus, he failed to make his teammates look good. lamar odom was once a great player. now he's in the shadows. in contrast to dirk, he made jason terry and jerry stackhouse look good. and those players were once great players from their former teams (jason terry-atlanta, jerry stackhouse-detroit and washington)

Dirk is the mvp based on being the best player on the best team in the nba. The mvp is decided before the playoffs, and you cant take away a season of 67 wins which is only behind some majorly good teams like Michael's bulls.You make a good point about kobe
