New seeding rules nba.?
if a division winner is gauranteed no less than a 4 seed, but if the team they play in the 5 seed spot gets home court for a better record why even have divisions at all?just have 2 conferences period.the third division winner is always capable of losing the home court and the two could possibly also?seems to me they changed rules that once in awhile might be kinda unfair but was always that way.and now made it unfair more common.i dont know makes less sense now than before?all other sports have similar scenarios as the rules were last year?

Anyone think the Sterns NBA lottery is rigged?
Divisions really are pretty pointless. They just categorize teams by the part of the country that they are in. The NBA likes divisions because one team from each division always makes the playoffs. This makes sure that you don't have a region of the country where no one gets into the playoffs, making people care less about the NBA.Divisions are pretty dumb though. The Atlantic Division always (except for this year, Toronto Raptors) has a division winner with almost a losing record, but they get a fourth seed in the playoffs. The NBA says it has to have that guaranteed spot just in case their division is very evenly talented and every team wins only 45 games or something.
It would make sense to just have 2 conferences in the NBA, then you wouldn't have to worry about those automatic spots for each division.
