Not James, Melo, Kobe, T-Mac or Iverson. They have too much of an ego and it really unbalances the team. T-Mac is pretty rowdy in previous Olympics. James can't hit jump shots consistently. Carmelo would want the ball too much and so would Kobe and Iverson. Shaq is way past his prime so I wouldn't put him on the USA team. Players like Wade, KG, Bosh and Paul should make the team because they're relatively humble players and add to team chemistry. Team chemistry is the most important factor for a victory in the Olympics as proven in previous years. You can take a look at foreign countries that have like one good player and the rest are just role players but their team chemistry allows them to win.Where can I get scores/results on Pro basketball in Finland?

Iverson isn't on...But he should be. He lead Team USA in points per game last olympics, and he was co-captain (or captain not sure) of the team. You can't just take the captain/ppg leader off the team like that.PS Steve Nash is Canadian, and he plays for the Canadian team. LMAO someone put him for team USA.

Yes, Dwayne & Lebon aren't starting in their regular NBA-related positions. But THIS line-up will have speed & quickness in their favor. It's a perfect idea in order to beat Italy, Argentina, France, & Greece at their own game...you know, that overrated uptempo run&gun offense.
Yes Team USA has a lot of talent but then again I guess some should work on the bakseat and do the dirty work, little things that are not so obvious but effective like rebounding, steals, and blocking shots. Scoring is not so difficult in this talented squad so if I may my dream team USA is as follows:
Starters:
PG- Kirk Hinrich, a young and selfless PG.
SG- Kobe Bryant, Scorers Please? and he's a goo defender too.
SF- Lebron James, another potent scorer. Explosive at both ends
PF- Kevin Gartnett, former MVP. Ultra-aggressive player.
C - Tim Duncan, 2 time MVP. intimidating player.
Bench:
Jason Kidd, Tracy Mc Grady, Shane Battier, Ben Wallace, Chris Bosh, Marcus Camby and Richard Jefferson.
Other players who could make it: Vince Carter, Josh Howard.
I think these players could be the formula Team USA needs to break their losing skid in the international arena. Inclusion of Ben Wallace, Marcus Camby and Shane Battier means better focus on defense and better ball distribution because these are players who doesn't ball--hug, they don't have to because they are known for DEFENSE.
The NBA champion team should represent the country from olympics, they have the better chance of winning the gold since they have the system and they knew each team mates. As for the coach? it is easy for him to call the play. Coaching an star studied team is more confusing, whom will be run the play.

Here is the logic: You want a starting five who knows how to play team basketball and win games? There it is. Sure you can say Kidd is too old, but he is still a tripple-double threat in the NBA every night and he is a true point guard who is probably still the best passer (short of Canadian Steve Nash) in the league and he knows how to get people involved. Picking Kobe needs no clarification. I hate the guy, but still the best guard in the league. He knows how to shoot, pass, dribble, play defense and by this point in his carrer he knows how to play team ball if he has to. Shawn Marion, all around player. Good shooter, better defender. He plays a complete game and can fit any role he is assigned. KG, again complete game. Can score if he has to, but also is a great passer and again plays defense. Then Tim Ducan, the big fundamental. Great hands, soft touch and great defender. Anyone see a trend here? All these guys not only can score, but play DEFENSE.
Now for the bench. You have your young guns who no doubt deserve to be on this team, but I think would be better suited for "the 6th man role". Of course they can't all be the 6th man, but you let the veterans start the game and bring the energy of LeBron, Wade, 'Melo and Bosh off the bench. All great scores, 'Melo the best shooter. LeBron and Wade, great passers. Wade and Bosh best defenders. A great well rounded core of young talent. Then, of course Shaq is getting old and can easily get hurt, but there is still nobody that can guard the Diesel. Anchor Shaq in the middle and put any of these other guys around him. With this Squad, Shaq would prove great off the bench. Not only can he score, but who wants to drive the lane with this guy standing in it? Then finally, two great role players who focus on defense. Marcus Camby is a great rebounder and shot blocker. Pair him with any other big man on this team and nobody is getting points in the paint. Then the toughest decesion was putting Ron Artest. It was between him and Tracy McGrady, but I went with the better defender. This team has plenty of scores and T-Mac has a tendency to settle for jump-shots and get lazy on D. So, Ron, a shut down defender who can defend against just about any position. Especially in World Basketball, where he can most definately defend the big men too.
The key to success is of course a good coach who can get some team chemistry and feel comfortable trusting his veteran players to know what to do and how to win. The U.S. team doesn't have the luxury of playing as a team for years at a time like other countries do, and has a much bigger priority that is playing in the most talented basketball league in the world, happening every year inbetween these world games. With the increased level of play around the world, it is hard to say that this U.S. team will win hands down, but I think our best shot is a good mix of well-rounded players, led by the vets and with a strong focus on the defense. Of course I don't see this team being put together, but I would sure love to see it.
