Why do the NBA called their Champions as "NBA World Champions"? who originated it?

Answers:

The NBA Finals?

Basketball was invented in Springfield, Massachusetts over 100 years ago.
Everyone in the world has tried to keep up with us in the past, but with more nations playing serious ball, they may have to change the title. Most NBA teams now draft and have players from other nations. Since they include foreigners, maybe thats why they are called World Champs.

A men's rugby or soccer league in America would never claim the title World Champs. So, it must have originated from the beginning when the league formed in the USA. No other countries considered basketball a serious sport, thus giving the NBA the distinction as the world's best.
