Lakers... Tanking Games?
Question:This is just my opinion, but the last few games the Lakers looked like intentionally losing. Now of course I don't have the facts, but it looked like Kobe doesn't force any shots to win the games.
Opinion Anyone?

Did you see Baron Davis dunk on AK-47? Is that the best dunk in NBA history or what?
This is my honest opinion. Kobe Bryant cannot win no matter what he does. Last week, there was about 40 question on sports1234.com that revolved around how much of a ball hog Kobe is. That he never tries to get his team involved and that a player should never score 50 points. This week, since Kobe is not putting up 50 a game, everyone is under the impression that he is tanking games. Im sorry man, I am definately do not know what your opinion was when Kobe was scoring 50 a game, but many were bashing him. When he doesn't score 50, everyone bashes him. No matter what Kobe does in a game, there are 1,000 of critics that are waiting to nail him for something. Kobe can score on any player in the NBA, but to win in the playoffs, others have to get involved. When the Lakers were about to lose their playoff hopes, Kobe came in and carried his team to victory. Now that they have a playoff spot that is pretty much set in stone, it is time to once again get players like Odom, Parker, Walton, and Bynum into some kind of rythym. The Lakers or kobe are not tanking games. They are trying the best they can with a injured and limited roster to get as ready as they can to face the Suns.Teams that are tanking games are Memphis. Boston is completely cripled by injury. Other than that most the other bottom feeding teams are actually trying still. My respect goes out to the Bobcats and Gerald Wallace for their outstanding play to close out the season.
When is the regular season MVP announced?
I hope they can get better, because the playoffs are comingWho knows how to become a better overall basketball player?
i wouldnt think so. Even if they dont make the playoffs they wont have a good fraft positonI am 5'6 and can dunk sometimes on a 10 foot hoop. wat should my vertical leap be 2 dunk constantly?
The Laker's aren't tanking games...they just play the worst defense in the history of basketball. Up until game or two ago, it was still up in the air if the Lakers would even make the playoff's, and believe me, the Lakers don't want to tank games so they miss the playoff's. From a financial standpoint alone, not making the playoffs is a huge blow to a team. If the Lakers could get some guys who know how to play team defense, like the Mavericks or Suns for example, then they would be winning games by 15 points every night.i haven't caught much of this season, but the thought of one the biggest and argubly the best teams in the NBA throwing games can't see it being true, but if it did could you imagine what effecet it would have on the NBA in general
They are a very weak bunch defensively and besides they got a tough match up any where land
Which player has had the shorttest contract with the NBA ever?
Now, there are some teams that are tanking, but the lakers aren't one of them. They're just starting to fade right now, they didn't have much talent other than kobe and odom all season, and now its showing. They're trying to hold on their playoff seed for their lives, they wouldn't tank now, the playoffs are a lot better than entering the lottery. They're just scrapping every win they can until they secure a playoff spot.King James vs. Melo...who got the most game?
No--they aren't...They are just sucking right now. You can't "Tank" a game against the Clippers. Thats just sad.Any Jazz fans wanna give a shout-out?!!?
They are not tanking games on purpose, they are just not playing defense, I hope is a wake up call because the playoffs are just around the corner and they need to get their stuff together. They will make the playoffs and I could asure you that Kobe will be dropping 50 in a couple games in the playoffs specially if they face Phoinex, because they will remember last year and use that as motivation. Go LAKERS..I do think they are losing a couple of games purposefully(key games: Clippers and Denver(2)), I know they could have taken at least one of those games. I think they are losing a little to seed themselves against Phoenix rather than San Antonio. Why face the staunchest defense in the NBA when you could take a foe you took to seven games last year. Out of the big three, the Suns are the least imposing, and L.A. knows that. So, yeah, I thinnk they are losing some "close" ones(in Denver games Kobe didn't care to take over in the fourth) on purpose to play Phoenix in the first round.
They're not losing games on purpose and Kobe is just trying to get his teammates more involved, but it doesn't look lik that is working. He should start trying to score more in these last 4 games.
Golden State Warriors,.do you want them to win first round.?
The Lakers have injury problems, and they play poor defense. Lack of continuity from injuries has hurt them.lakers hahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha... that is all thank u
Who are 5 Best NBA players of all time?
i don't think so , if they drop to 8 th they play Dallas then there is no other way just to play San Anton or Phoenix they have no chance to win any games against those teams.may be they can beat the Jazz but they are way behind Houston , again pooooooooor LakersHad Jordan's Bull teams been in the Western Conference would he still have six rings?
Lakers are not tanking games. I love the Lakers; the 98-99 team was the reason i started watching basketball. My opinion is biased yes, but i will try my best to answer your question objectively.Kobe isn't forcing shots anymore not because he's just trying to get his teammates in a rhythm before the playoffs, but also because he hasn't gotten into a rhythm himself. He's been guarded well lately and it has been difficult for him to find his shot away from the basket.
I don't think the Lakers would ever resort to tanking during any part of the season. They have a reputation to uphold and a legacy to defend. They are a really bad team this year, i know, but there's pride in wearing the uniforms with the team name that Magic Johnson, Kareem, James Worthy , and Wilt Chamberlain wore.
You can tell they're still trying when you see some brilliant bursts of defensive play against better teams that they play (e.g. Houston, Phoenix). They got lax on Memphis and Charlotte (i don't know why) earlier this season and Phil Jackson grilled them for that. There's no reason for them to intentionally lose anyway, they were trying to keep the 6th spot and go against the Spurs, but it looks like that spot is going to Denver anyway so they'll be in for a thrashing in the first round against the Suns.
Does shawn bradley still play in the NBA ? did he retire or just didnt make the cut?
