No. Not at all. MVP is a REGULAR SEASON award. Dirk Nowitzki had the best regular season, and deserves to win the award. Yes he choked in the playoffs, but that has nothing to do with the MVP award. God I would hate him even more if he does do that. No one likes one of those good guys who thinks he's a hero and says "I don't deserve, this, so I won't accept it"we all understand that there exists a difference between the regular season and the playoffs. BUT MVP still stand for most valuable player.
Stats have allot to do with it but not everything. I believe the Mavs could easily have went to the playoffs and lost in the first round with out Dirk. Therefore I fail to see how he deserves the MVP of his TEAM never mind the league.
