Do you think istmus shouldve been fired for saying his comment about the rutgers basketball team?

Why dose steve nash sits on the floor at everygame?
No, despite never having heard of him before, I think that's just the way people talk and there's nothing that can be done about it. Sheesh, if everyone who has said nappy headed hoes was taken off the air there'd be no one in media today? Hello, even if he came out and said directly, "I am a racist, I don't understand black folk, I'm afraid of their hostility, and indignant at their criminality, and I don't like them." you really think that's an incorrigible insult for which he ought to be fired? A crime of violence? That's an opinion, not an insult, he didn't yell, "hey ***," across the room and throw an apple at someone's head. What ever happened to free speech in America? Even if it's ignorant this is an opportunity to argue your reason, not to threaten someone's livelihood.Oh, yeah, if someone apologizes for something, then unless you're insane, that should be the end of it. There's nothing more you can do to someone unless they've committed an actual crime.
Absolutely not
Did Philadelphia trade aybody to Dallas for the 30th pick?

Can you tell me how many feet is the 3 pointer in basketball and the free throw line?

If U Were To Start A Franchise...?
I don't remember hearing the expression "nappy headed" before this incident with Don Imus. In fact, I had to look it up in the Urban Dictionary on-line (lol). Initially, I was more bothered by the fact that he called the girls hoes but after reading the second definition listed in the Urban Dictionary, I agree that he should be fired. Anyway, he'll be back on air--in some capacity--again in the future. 'Ya wanna bet?Is the "DIRTY" playing in the NBA helping the ratings?
No,not fired but it shoud definetly have attention!Do u consider the bulls contenders?
I wouldn't if he were not a public figure. What he says puts CBS in either a positive or negative light. What he believes is his business until it effects his job and his company. He let his personal feelings rule over him instead of exercising self control and doing his job.i dont like the fact that he said it, but we all say things we dont mean and sometimes things just slip. No one is perfect and we all make mistakes, so if he comes out with a sincere...and i mean really sincere..no BS..apology then he should be able to keep it.otherwise go ahead fire his hoe ***
Yes. I dont care if he really belives what he said or not those comments are extremely racist and he needs to learn that jokes like that are not funny. These women are just trying to play ball and get an education and to say such things is just plain sick.
Sympathy for Golden State Warriors?
I think that the comment was taken completely out of context.I personally can't stand the guy, he annoys me to no end, therefore I do not listen to him.
I haven't heard any formal apologies for the Duke players yet.
I haven't heard of "white" history month or the United Whiteys College Fund. I believe that if a person of the same race had said this, it never would have escalated the way it did.
Is Imus an idiot? YES
Has this been totally blown out of proportion? YES
Do you think a slam dunk should be worth 1 point rather than 2?
Sure. He should've been fired and that should've been that. Instead it's been trotted out as the latest PC'ers banner waving fest. It was a crappy thing to say, but this situation has gone on way too long.Actually, I think it might be best to just lock ole mr IMUS in a room with Vivian Stringer for about 5 good minutes and see what happens to him.
Have you ever played Wheelchair Basketball?
No, he should not have lost his job over this. I think he's a scapegoat...someone that all of these media people (black and white)can take down and sit there and claim that they did something "for the black people".Here's my question on this matter:

Someone, help me understand.
Dose anyone how i can watch a full lenth nba basketball game on the internet??
I do think he should've been fired. I know if I called a co-worker something derogatory I would be fired or at least suspended. I think the fact that he is in the public eye and impacts millions certainly had something to do with it. But did he learn his lesson? I'm not sure. The lesson here is there are some things just don't say on the airwaves and across America. While you do have freedom of speech there's also a responsibility with that freedom. It's simple - don't say bad things about anybody..that's all. The thing is though in 5 years will anybody remember that Pat Summit and her team won the NCAA finals for the 7th time in school history?IMUS should take solace in knowing he definitely started a national debate on respect.
But for all others out there...even if a Black Man, African-American male or female said something they should be fired as well. So I do not support Jesse Jackson for his H-town remark made in the 80s. Nor do I allow people around me to say derogatory things about anybody. It's not cool - period!
LeBron not making the All NBA first team?
YesWhy because he could not being a radio host have had any credibility left.
He would have had problems with interviews with people that found his remarks racist.
Question should be should Al sharpden keep showing up everytime someone makes a racist comment?
What does the guy do? Isnt he a reverend or pastor?
Would love to hear his sermon on forgiveness.
Hey WARRIORS, come out to Play-ay!?
no CBS owns a record company that produces black rap music. they use much worse language and call others worse names than nappy. fire them also or you just going to fuel the racist firesWHY NOT!
Anyone, notice how if Steve Nash hadn't flopped around , his team players would be in for Game 5 ?
yes, that was mean of him to say! He should keep his coments to him self...little things can turn into big things easily...He even had a chance to apoligize, then maybe just a small reprimand and then back on air, but he didnt choose the right move, and that is why he is off the air...
Everyone makes miustakes... but if you have a chance to apolgize TAKE IT!!!
Amare & Diaw Out? THIS IS BS SO BAD!?
He has said some remarks like that before. He should have gotten fired before. But anyway, he just got fired. It was very mean of him to say something like that.http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070412/ap_e...
No and it disgusts me greatly. Freedom of speech! These comments were not that bad. You people need to get over the whole racist aspect of the game. His comments were mild to some of the other stuff i hear. Its not like he said the n word. Just completely disgusting
Why Won't Minn. Trade Kevin Garrnett?
While I find what Imus sad completely disgusting, in no way shape or form should he have been fired.I can't believe some of the answers here. Have any of you ever listened to him? He has been making offensive comments for about 20 years now. Why should this one get him fired? He was king of the "shock jocks" before Howard Stern had long hair. And NOW he gets fired for saying what he said? What hypocrisy!
Anyone know mylinda walker from waynoka oklahoma?
I certainly think what he said was inappropriate. And he surely owed the Rutgers team an apology and has now apologized. But there is something to be said for redemption. I think the whole situation would have been better served to let him apologize and change his format to include some black interns or assistants and then he would become more sensitive. With Imus being fired, Rap music is next and it should be. It's black men putting down their own women. To me, that's as bad as what Imus did. So now that it's started, I'd say Rap music is next.More Questions & Answers...
