Clothesline, kneeing and elbowing are fine. Leaving the bench when your teammate is body checked, suspension?
Maybe the NBA has lost it's mind.

Also the fans are so much closer to the court in basketball, a bad situation can get out of hand real quick if a large scale brawl kicks off. One player leaves the bench on one side, then two from the other, then the whole team, then half the crowd. Once the fans get involved and a riot breaks out people can and will get seriously injured.
You know how crazy and drunk folks get at games, so they make the rule and stick by it and someone gets suspended and it looks silly, but putting that thought of Unpaid suspension in the players heads keeps their butts on the bench.
All that being said, the NBA HISTORICALLY plays favorites primarily to the Spurs and Lakers which makes the whole NBA organization look like a bunch of chumps.
I searched on the internet for "LOST", but Phoenix Suns always come on top, why?
Amen. Spurs are the favored team.Exactly...well stated.
Screw Stern and the NBA. Bunch of BS
Who will win the western conference?(nba)?
Yeah, I had actually been a Spurs supporter before this year but with Duncans whining, and Bowens cheapshots, and now this...No way will I root for them ever again
Which NBA Playoff series is the most exciting and which is the most boring?
You're not complaining already are you? That's funny, since Horry was suspended the most games. Doesn't sound to me like that's saying "Clotheslining is OK", but whatever... Sounds like Suns fans are preparing their excuses for another Playoff loss! That's what I'm talking about right there! Baron Davis can thump Derek Fisher and not even a foul, let alone a flagrant or fine or suspension?? WTF? What a marketing machine the NBA is!
What basketball superstars are known for growing up with criticism?
The NBA has a image problem from the Malace at the Palace. David Stern is overreacting due to the public and media overreacting to the incident (and other, minor brawls). In YOUR opinion is no emotion better?
Once again, the NBA has screwed the team not responsible for the scrap. Robert Horry for 2 games and Stoudemire and Diaw for 1? That's not a fair trade. Its ridiculous. The Spurs have the worst offenses, but end up as the beneficiaries. If this changes the series, the NBA should fire Stu Jackson. What are the chances the GS Warrior players stay drug-free this summer?
There wasnt even a fight, just some jockeying and posturing between the players on the court. If there had been a (fist) fight and the players left the bench, then i would agree suspending those players.
The rule interpretation is just stupid and potentially damaging.
STAT and Diaw should not have been suspended
What is the most entertaining series matchup of the first round?
The "clothesline/elbow" are the same incident. Horry suspended 2 games for that. Bowen recieved a flagrant foul for his knee. HOW IS THAT SAYING ITS FINE YOU **** IDIOT!? There is a rule that if you leave the vicinity of the bench during an altercation you will be suspended one game. I am a Spurs fan, and I totally disagree with the suspension of Amare and Diaw, they were coming to defend their fallen teamate. I look at it from BOTH sides. Stop getting on here spitting out BS comments like "Clothesline, kneeing and elbowing are fine". You are a complete moron.I hope the Suns win game 5 so we can play against the best they have to offer. And I hope all of these "altercations" stop so we can play some real basketball. I love the competetiveness, but it's getting ridiculous.
Its bs. There have been a sh!tload of flagrant fouls or close to ones at least this postseason. They should all be suspended, but i guess its ok for someone to throw an elbow, slam a guy to the ground, and clothsline other players. But you can't leave the bench? This is stupid.
Is it just me or is it all white guys that are being knocked down, punched, clothslined, etc?
Pavlovic for the Cavs... Nash... Okur...all knocked down by black players. Are they mad because for some reason the guy is schooling them?
