In NBA, MLB, NFL, and NHL they all use champaigne and other alcohol to celebrate winning a championship. Usually you will see a college team do something that is not alcoholic. But always when they interview players and coaches in the locker room they will celebrate. They usually put up plastic over the lockers to not get other things messed up.

Yes, to celebrate the victory. I know for sure that they pop the cork and squirt the champagne everywhere. But, i am not sure if they drink it..I'll bet they will drink a little.
