Would a KG trade to phoenix work?
Question:trade KG for marion and diaw and probably someone who is not nash, amare, barbosa, bell, thomas. marion would love to be the lone star on the garnett-less wolves. KG is big, can also put up huge scoring and rebounding numbers, as well as be a passer down on the block, hence replacing the smaller marion and diaw's passing. KG isn't a slow, plodding 7 footer and is very athletic and agile, a perfect fit for the suns system. amare will also welcome another low post threat so he isnt the main focuse of the defense.
imagine... amare and KG dominating on the inside. if it doesnnt work, kick it out to bell or barbosa for a 3. all orchestrated by maestro steve nash.

it'd never work. kg is too much of an isolation scorer a la michael jordan. i.e., t'wolves pass the ball around for 20 seconds until they get kg 1-on-1 then he does his thing. mike dantoni has modeled the suns after european basketball (where he coached for a long time) which is much more team oriented. everybody gets involved on offense and defense. i think kg alone is no better or worse than the combination of stoudemire, barbosa, marion, etc. the only difference is if you trade all those guys for one kg and he goes down you have no replacement. one of the big strengths of the suns is their depth. one guy has a rough game another steps up.in the end i think kg would slow down the suns as he would be the main scoring threat. and the suns would become just like every other team in the league instead of the run and gun, fast break team they are now.
no cuz thats 1 to many stars on the team you've already got 3 with potential to be on the All NBA Team 1, in Amare,Shawn, Steve, So if you put Kevin Garnett down there he'll want the ball like he does in Minnesota and Steve Nash wont be able to provide all of that because he has to pass it to amare, barbosa, bell, thomas, marion and bench players and still have time for him to shoot if that trade works i would rather the suns make a three way trade cuz they can afford to give up shawn marion or amare stodomire but if this trade does happen i garentee they will be the best team in the league winning about 70 games a season
if i would be him, no because kg is getting 21 million a year, (highest paid player) so even though he's team sucks, he still has a benfit

The team would work, with KG's basketball ability, he should be able to adjust to the Suns style of play regardless what they do in Minnesota. Great thoughts, but I think it won't work. KG is a guy who executes offense in the half-court set and he needed the ball to operate.His style is too contrast to Suns'. Suns uses run and gun offense. They attack with their fast break and pick and roll. As agile as KG you claimed to be, Amare and Marion will just outrun him. He will be left alone in the backcourt on a fastbreak.

i like it. i think such a trade - in theory - would put the suns in definite finals contention. getting someone like garnet would make them dangerous, however at what asking price would such a trade cost the suns. u suggested marion and diaw...not a bad option. although lets not forget that diaw has really struggled this year, and im not sure if the T wolves offence would work for a player of Diaw's ability. i do like the idea though, i think garnet would have to modify the way he plays his game, but i think he would get a lot more touches and still get his points in the fast pace style the suns have.i think a starting line up of garnet and stoudamire up front, with the wing flanked by james jones and bell, with nash running the point. im picking james jones cause he has those long arms for defence, not to mention he can stroke it from deep when hes on.
unfortunately, i think such a trade would only happen in basketball games for ur console or pc. i doubt the wolves would trade him to the west, i dont think they'd wanna see him 4 times a year!!
I can't see that working with Stoudamire and Garnett. Plus the Suns have been very unwilling to part with anybody not named Joe Johnson or Quentin Richardson. Plenty of teams showed interest in Barbosa, but they gave him a 5 year 33 million dollar extension to be their 6th man. I think Garnett will end up with an Eastern Conference team. I like Garnett to the Pistons for Rasheed Wallace, McDyess and draft picks. or perhaps Garnett for Paul Pierce

I think Garnett for Marion straight up might be all the Suns would offer. That said, that might be the best the Wolves will get, especially if Garnett demands a trade. The other option is an offer from Chicago with Deng as a centerpiece.I think the suns would be the favorites to win the championship, but team chemistry would take some time to get going.
Further, Marion is a guy who doesn't need to have plays run for him. He can create his own shot, and gets point off putbacks, in addition to playing great defense.

It wouldn't work for a few reasons:1) Minnesota wouldn't do the trade. They would need Kurt Thomas or a legit big man to go with Shawn Marion (max contract) to make the deal work. The Suns don't have a big man they're willing to move other than Thomas maybe. James Jones enough maybe?
If Minnesota asked for Barbosa or Bell, the deal would be off.
2) KG and Amare basically have the same game. KG is probably a better defender, but offensively they are the same. I don't think you'd pay KG that much to split time with Amare in the pivot like that.
3) This is a fantasy team scenario... and if you're giving up Shawn Marion to make it happen, you're losing a lot. The Suns would be very different and who know what would/could happen.

Actually that might work! I didnt really think it over until I read that-I didnt think KG would fit in..but now I really have deep thought about it-why wouldnt he?? You are totally correct-KG is athletic enough for the Suns team and fits their defensive category as well! But I dont know if the Suns would be willing to lose Marion??
