Possible solution for NBA issues with violence...?
Question:I would like to propose the following method for dealing with the issue:
There be 4 classes of violation with each class dealing with SPECIFIC criteria for violation and increasing penalty. They would include:
Class D violations:
1. Coming onto the floor during an altercation with no physical contact
2. Verbal misconduct with an official or the media
PENALTY: fine with NO suspension
Class C violations:
1. Swinging at an opponent
2. Spitting at or on an opponent
3. Flagrant Foul
PENALTY: fine AND suspension
Class B violations:
1. Swinging at an official or fan
2. Spitting at or on an official or fan
3. Swinging at and hitting an opponent
4. Flagrant Foul with an attempt to injure
PENALTY: fine AND 2 game suspension AND LOSS of ANOTHER PLAYER (coach's choice)
Class A violations:
1. Hitting at an official or fan
2. Drawing blood in a fight
3. Flagrant Foul with an causing an injury
PENALTY: fine AND 3 game suspension AND LOSS of ANOTHER PLAYER (OPPOSING coach's choice)
Ideas?

What ever happened to george muresan?
Sounds really good except for the "plus another player to be chosen by the coach of the other team." That's punishing a player when he did nothing wrong, it's totally unrealistic and would NEVER happen.you call that little shove on nash and the running into the floor by stoudemire and diaw violence?
then obviously you have never watch a european soccer game
Who will be the top 5 NBA draft pick?
Sure for your fantasy LeagueIt is definitely an interesting idea with a few flaws. I definitely disagree with the loss of another player, that makes no sense to me. I also think that hitting an official, fan or opponent deserves more than just 2 or 3 game suspensions. I doubt anything like this will ever happen.
Baron Davis: another spectacular dunk?
Horrible idea.1) swinging at an opponent, contact made or not, dramatically escalates the situation. Whether contact is made should have no bearing on the severity of the crime.
2) Coming on the court and going toward an altercation would also escalate the situation, physical contact or not.
3) It's my understanding that Flagrant Fouls generally are made to injure other players. I could be wrong on that one, though.
4) Why would hitting an official or fan be any different than hitting an opponent? Any unneeded violence should be dealt with on the same basis. I suppose hitting a fan could have a higher punishment, but officials are in the game jsut as much as opponents.
5) IF a flagrant is made with intent to injure, legally, what does it matter if the player is injured or not. The intent was there. I think the penalties should be the same.
6) Why penalize a player that had nothing to do with the altercation?
7) Why let the opposing coach chose who to penalize for something that the player had nothing to do with? Players losing play time and money for nothing? That's ridiculous. That's essentially handing the opposing team a victory.
Why does LeBron "refuse to acknowlege" the Darfur Genocide?
Okay what about stepping on the court with altercation, and getting involved in fight? Loss of another player with coaches choice? No. And hitting fan, official causing blood only three games? thats WAY too lite, I just think some of the suspensions need more time.More Questions & Answers...
