How good was Michael Jordan ?
Jordan had a great front office, great coach, and great team around him. Agree ? they gave him the pointforward pippen, and the defensive stopper rodman, along with other good shooters like Kukoc n Kerr. I do believe Jordan was a top 5 NBA player of all time, HIs probably the best leader ever in the NBA, and the list goes on n on. But what IF IF IF, rockets shouldve taken MJ, n bulls took Hakeem the dream Olajuwon. Do you believe the bulls wouldve won more rings than what they won with MJ ? (please keep in mine the year MJ took off because of his father death. because i think they couldve won that eyar too .) Would Rockets win the 2 they did? or win nothing at all ?

Other than Pippen, the second set of three titles were won with a very different team compared to the first set of three titles. Pippen and Jordan - and of course Jackson - were the foundation of this dynasty.
I don't want to take away from the Rocket or Hakeem, I just can't help 'assuming' the Bulls would have taken care of it - had Jordan not retired. It is true that the Bulls has not played a Finals against a team with an All Star center the likes of The Dream, and if anything, the center position of the Bulls was not taken by that talented a player. Hakeem would have been lethal for sure - he did school Shaq - but that combo of Jordan & Pippen, with an anchor like Rodman (hands down the best defender ever; just look at his rebounding stats and compare these with the superstar Centers and PF's of that time)... a team that had a 72 win season... you'd be hard pressed to think they couldn't handle another team in a 7 game series...

um, i think jordan was pretty good. i think his numbers and his teammates explain that. he had no one. pippen.* who was only good cuz jordan made him good. He led his team, literally singlehandedly. Id say he was pretty good.How pathetic is dallas for not being able to take advantage of these injuries?
MJ was good, great even. but we are young and there have been several players to put up numbers better than MJ. Like Oscar Robertson, Elgin Baylor, Pete Maravich, and so on. Mj just was lucky he played at a time when he was the prototype. But lets not forget MAGIC & BIRD HAD to retire so MJ could get a chance to finally get some recognition.If not for a VERY BAD BACK INJURY & HIV. MJ might have had a much longer wait to get to the promissed land!

The Rockets came from the middle of the pack in both playoff series to go to the finals and win it all. They were never higher than a 4th seed in the Western Conference.
