Every year its Steve Nash battling with some1 4 the MVP award...last year I thought he was really battling with Kobe for the award, but LeBron ended up being runner up for the award(shocking) by the end of his career can he ever win the Most Valuable Player Award(not best basketball player award) i mean if thats what it meant Kobe would have won it the past 2 or 3 years..and do u think MJ would have only won 5? i don't

I think Kobe will win the award before he retires. But he'd better do it in the next 5 years or so... Kobe is NOT overrated, but hes NOT an MVP. He doesnt make people around him better, and he isnt a leader. I wouldnt be suprised if LeBron came in second or even won it this year. People forget about him when it comes to MVP talk, but whenever he scores 40, he has 10+ assists to show, as well as 10+ rebounds. No offense Becky, but... YOU ARE CRAZY! Overrated is a word used to describe Drew Barrymore's beauty or even Hilary Duff's singing ability! Overrated could possibly be used to describe a player like Vince Carter whose Talents have far surpassed his productivity since he entered the league! But, Never, I mean NEVER, to describe a player who is a victim of no help! Never, to describe a player who is known league - wide as the hardest worker on the court night in and night out! Never, to describe a player who has scored 81 points in a single game! Never, to describe a player who has scored 50+ in four consecutive games! Kobe Bryant is the single best talent this league has seen since MJ! No one else even compares in my book, to the talent known as Kobe Bryant! To answer the question at hand... YES! No. He will never be on a good team unless their is a better player infront of him like Shaq was a few years back. The only way it will happen is if Kobe stops being a 'shoot first' kind of player and learns how to involve his teamates.I think he will eventually win at least 3 MVP awards. He's one of those players that get better with age just like Michael Jordan did. Kobe is the best current player in the NBA and the reason he hasn't won an MVP is because there is always someone else having a slightly better season than him. Also today there is more competition and there are many great players. I'm not saying there weren't great players during the MJ era but players today are more skilled and stronger in general. When Jordan played the 2nd, 3rd, etc best players were very distant from him, but today the 2nd best players are much closer to Kobe because like I said before there's just so much talent out there now.
