Why is it that when people talk about the 2003 NBA Draft they compare it to 1984, like 1996 didn't happen?
I'm gonna make you find it yourself, but of the 29 first rounders, 18 are still in the league. All together there are 3 NBA MVP Awards,13 NBA Championships, 9 All-NBA First Team Selections, and 45 All-Star appearances. Is 2003 still the greatest ever? In fact, is 1984 even the greatest ever?

Carlos Boozer is better than Yao.Do you angree with that opinion?
Fantastic question, i have this argument all the time with a friend about which is better, the 1984 class or the 1996 class, though we both agree that they're both better than the 2003 class (so far).Of course, we're biased because the newer class means more middle-talent players that we've actually heard of, but it's hard to argue that a class with Iverson, Nash, Jermaine Oneal, Stojakovic, Bryant, Ray Allen, Marbury, Camby, Abdur-Rahim, Ben Wallace, and Antoine Walker wasn't the best ever. Even with all that star-power, there were very few busts and most of the first round were all legitimate starters for many years (Kittles, Lorenzen Wright, Dampier, Fisher, etc etc).
The 1984 draft just wasn't as deep. Besides Jordan, Olajuwon, Stockton, and Barkley, there were no real stars (though Alvin Robertson, Jerome Kersey, Sam Perkins, Otis Thorpe, and Kevin Willis were pretty good). Although the all-star appearances are very close between the two drafts, Bryant, Allen, AI, O'neal etc have a lot more left.
However, i think the real problem in this question isn't the strength of the 1996 draft, it's the overrated 2003 draft. It really isn't that good. Although the top 4 are amazing (Lebron, Bosh, Wade, and Carmello), the rest of the class really isn't that good, like the 1996 class was. Chris Kaman took a huge step back this last year, Kirk Hinrich has never made an all-star game (and after his performance tonight, i think he might never), TJ Ford's backup is better than he is, Josh Howard made an all-star game only because guys ahead of him were injured and his team had the best record, and there really isn't another legitimate starter in the 1st round other than David West Leandro Barbosa (who is a legit starter despite coming off the bench). The 2003 draft is overrated.

Talent wise, class of 96 is the best.Which was bigger all throughout the series? Warriors' heart or Mavs' choking?
just give the 2003 draft 5 more years, then you can compare them with the 1996 draft, and then the 1984 draftZone defense, triangle offense?
The two drafts are similar because they contained four to five superstars, and some really solid players. The 96 '96 draft has a few superstars, Iverson and Kobe, but not a lot of solid players.thei draft with me irish boy pat burke is the best all of,
