What type of year will Greg Oden have?
Assuming he is picked by Memphis as the number one pick if Memphis is picking first due to having the worst record in the league.

Oden is the much needed center who Pau had always complained about. Pau had always said the Grizzlies needed a bigger man in the middle, which caused a feud with Lorenzo Wright a couple of years ago. And PFs, like Durant, come from all over the place, so centers take precedence. Just look at Pau, nobody expected him to be that good. Oden will be number 1. When is the last time you heard of a great big center being drafted from college?
Memphis is also the perfect spot for Oden, because Memphis doesn't expect him to shoulder the team. Pau is still FIBA MVP even without playing the finals. Pau is still Memphis's franchise player. So Pau will have 22.8 ppg, 7.2 rpg, 1.6 bpg, and 4.3 apg, and Oden will have 16 ppg, 12 rpg, 3.2 bpg, and 4.9 apg. Both Durant and Oden have offense, Oden will be rookie of the year because of his defensive play. Oden will probably get double-teamed like in college. And Memphis will also grab a PG, and there were tons of great PG in college this year.
I hope Larry Brown does coach and GM the Grizzlies. That would be like a championship caliber team immediately.

i think it depends on who wins the lottery (assuming he does go #1)... he should be great on defense and on he boards, but will need a few years to polish his scoring touch. if he goes to a team like memphis. i think he's easily a double/double guy.. lets say 12pts/10rbs a game...I firmly believe he needed one more year of "minor league" ball to refine his inside game for the NBA. He will be a cornerstone for Memphis to build a team around, but it's going to take a couple years. I see a season where he plays 82 games, averages 13 points, 9 boards, 5 assists per game. Good numbers, but he will only get better due to his solid attitude and work ethic. The adjustment is going to be great and he will be pushed around a ton.
