Bruce Bowen?
Question:If you had to be dirty in order to stay in the NBA wouldn't you?
Sure Bruce Bowen is a dirty player but you got to do what you got to do right? Like Bill Simmons said, at one point in Bowen's career he decided he'd do whatever it took to stay in the NBA, even if it meant being dirty.

Who are the best players for every position left in the NBA playoffs?
There's always been someone like him in the NBA, and every successful (championship) team has one, EVERY SINGLE ONE. This guy is called the enforcer and he's the guy that gives you the hard foul, or constantly slaps at your hands, or slips his foot under yours when you're jumping for a rebound, or knees you in the groin when he's dribbling, or slaps you in the face when he's shooting, or comes up and "cleanly" blocks your shot then throws you to the ground. This guys is as important to a team as a star, because he 1.)protects his teams star2.)hits the crap out of the other teams star so that guy is afraid to drive the lane.
You saw last night in the Bulls game, Rasheed Wallace hit Loul Deng in the face, and Loul Deng didn't drive to the basket the rest of the night. The NBA is about mind games, and the Spurs have "cleanly", and by cleanly I mean within the rules except for kneeing Nash in the groin, beaten the Suns into submission this series because the NBA has allowed it to happen. As a result the frustration overflowed the other night and when Horry hip checked Nash, Amare was gonna go pound on him, and I've seen the replays so many times that I'm convinced Amare was making a b-line for Horry he doesn't even glance in Nash's direction but is staring straight at Horry's turned back. The Spurs are very good at this though, and mainly because of Bowen.

Is the mid-range game really a lost art in basketball?
When Bowen plays dirty he is putting other athlete's health in danger, that's why everyone is so hung up on this issue. If he can't play in the NBA and play good, clean basketball; then he shouldn't be playing at all. To directly answer your question, no, i wouldn't play dirty just to be able to play in the NBA. If I had to I would retire, or ask to be put in the D-League. This is a desperation act for Bowen. His career is coming to end sooner than you think if he keeps playing like this.agreed...Bruce is amazing, that's why players complain about him.
it's over in 6!!
Do alll point guards have to be passers or can they be scorers like shooting guards?

The other night when I was biting my nails because they were so behind, and he sunk a few of those corner threes, damn right I was proud! He is a great player. Which NBA team has the best sportsmanship?
Being nuetral in the whole Phoenix/San Antonio play, I can't just sit aside while everyone rips on the Spurs.Bruce Bowen has been known as one of the greatest defensive players for several years now. One of his best strengths is that he can add in that little jab or grab everyonce in a while without being noticed.
He keeps the other team in-line but rarely pick up fouls while doing it. An answerer higher than me commented that he is putting the health of others at risk, but when have you ever seen someone seriously injured by one of Bowen's "dirty" hits? No one had ever questioned Bowen's tactics before Stoudemire because they have faced several other players who do the same, and it is just good solid play.
Bowen was labelled a dirty player, suddenly, the entire Spurs team is dirty? What are you watching to be able to call other players dirty? Granted, Horry's hit was a little excessive, but even Suns fans can't admit their wasn't alittle bit of acting involved on Nash's end. Nash has been flopping the whole series, players flop. Does that mean that Nash or those other players are pansies for doing a little acting. No, just like Bowen, they are doing what is necessary to keep their team going.
Before the series started, the Spurs were known as one of the classiest franchises in the NBA. An announcer commented earlier in this serier that the Spurs had the best team defensively this year, all the while maintaining one of the lowest number of fouls per game. For me to think of a team or player as dirty, he would have to be playing with the goal of hurting people, and as far as I can tell, the Spurs (despite all of the negative energy coming from the Suns crowd that could easily force a team into wanting to hurt their adversaries) have been playing purely for the win.
Soudemire should have never shared his oppinion of Bowen. It and wanting to come off of the bench to start a fight strongly shows that he has a lot of maturing to do before he can become a true all-star. He and Diaw recieved what they deserved. They were not punished for an altercation caused by the _Spurs_. They were punished for a decision that they themselves had made during an altercationcaused by _Horry_, just as Horry was punished for his part. Even Horry's punishment was stronger than it should have and otherwise would have been, but that was the decision the league made, probably hoping to calm the Suns fan.
As a nuetral fan of basketball, I say this: the Spurs have not changed one bit from the team they were when they won those three championships. The Sun's and they're fans are the ones who have changed, trying to play the role of victim instead of going out and playing the sport.
Are the Utah Jazz's owners and coach Jerry Sloan members of the Mormon religion?
like anything else in life, Bowen is just trying to see what he can and can not get away with. its the same reason why Kobe slapped two white guys this year, he wanted to see what he could get away with. same thing in football when linemen spit in the other guys face or a cornerback gives a reciever a little tug, anything to get even the smallest advantage will be tried. don't know how slapping a guy gives you an advantage, nor do I see how Bowen kneeing someone gives him an advantage. I don't think Bowen is a dirty player either. Dennis Rodman was dirty. Bowen doesn't have to provoke his opponents to beat them, Rodman was always trying to start something to take the other team out of their game plan. Bowen is just a hard working talented defender and he made some mistakes with a couple cheap shots.Who do you thinks gunan win tonight cavs or nets?
sure he cud be a dirty players but if keeps on playin dirty he might just keep gettin fined or suspended.no i would rather do something im good at than be a total scumbag like bowen!
i wont resort to that. i'd rather find other ways. perhaps by improving my shooting. why, gilbert arenas did just that. look at where he is right now.
