Was the Bad Bad's Pistons of the 80's & 90's a dirtier team then the Spurs in now?

No question about it. Being from Detroit, Go Pistons, I seen the 88,89,90 pistons. You have to remember, back then, the little ticky tac fouls that they call now were unheard of. Just ask the greatest player ever, Michael Jordan, who was punished physicaly by the bad boys. They didn't get that name for nothing. Laimbeer got about 10 fights under his NBA belt, and Isaiah wasn't to far behind, not to mention they had Mahorn, and Rodman as well. Mahorn alone makes everyone on the Spurs look like girls when it comes to being dirty. Everyone hated the bad boys.Can The Heat make it atleast a 6 or 7 game series??

The Bad Boys played hard and if you tried to get into the paint they made you pay. They were not innocents by any stretch . Even they drew the line at kneeing a guy in the GROIN.Will Chris Wilcox ever win the slam dunk contest?
it's tough to say. the game was played a lot more physical back then, with hand checks and all that jazz.the Pistons were definetely the most physical of teams from that era. but I don't think they were quite as spiteful. they weren't trying to permanently hurt guys, like clipping the knee of a guy who just had intense surgery (Bowen, we're looking at you).
the Bad Boys ultimately won on talent, they were really good. not cheap shots, like the Spurs.

Going to the rack against those guys meant putting your life at risk. They knew it, and they loved it.
The Spurs, by comparison, are a watered down, Disney channel version of the Bad Boys of the early 90's. They are little more than cheap shot artists where as the Pistons beat you into fear and submission.

They just play good defense. Sure, dozens of dirty fouls come here and there, but even our "classiest" of teams had dozen of fouls. Kobe and his elbow. Raja and his clothesline. Reggie and his groping. Jordan and his knee. Karl Malone and his arms. Chuck Barkley and his mouth... oh wait. Well, you get the picture.
Many whiny fans need to stop whining about a hard foul was place on their team. It's ridiculous. Maybe we ought to have a rule that no player can be within an arms length of each other.

The Pistons of Lambeer and Rodman were much more chippy. In point of fact, the Spurs are not a dirty team. They are getting over run by the Sun's ability and speed. They are getting older as well. They have had to knock Nash around to have a shot in this series. It looks as though it was a smart move. After game four, the Spurs were exposed. Getting those suspensions were huge. They barely escaped game 5 against a six man team in the Suns.No -the Spurs are dirtier!

The Spurs are worse, because they are not only dirty, they are cowards. The original "Bad Body" Detriot Pistons took dirty or cheap shots at you but would stand up and fight like men afterwards. The Spurs on the other hand (Bowen mainly) will do some possibly career ending sh*t to another player and then cry to the refs with a blatant "What did I do?" look on their face.
