Does anybody else agree with me that offensive goal tending is absolutely insane?! This rule should be erased.
I mean, the team who is shooting the ball should be given the right to score however they can. If the first person misses the shot a 2nd person should be able to tip it in regardless of where the ball is.

Shaq vs. Ben Wallace free throw competition. the winner is?
Why should they get an advantage that the defense can do nothing against?it either has to be no goaltending like it used to be, or both sides being allowed to touch the ball after it hits the rim like international rules
Now that the lakers are in the playoffs ..?
No because then they would have to get rid of defensive goal tending. because they would no longer be able to block the shot. see what i'm getting at?it probably has more to do with statistical accuracy than anything else. i mean, it would take point credits away from one person and give them to another person who really didn't contribute to the shot.
Who would u put on your 1st Team All-Time NBA Defensive Team?
well, it's legal in international play, and other parts of the world don't seem to mind it. so yea, why not?Who do you think is better kobe or Wade and why?
No. Why should the offensive player be able to touch the ball when the defensive player isn't allowed to? It means the defender can't really defend. Is Nate Robinson good?what do you think?
The question-asker hasn't thought this out clearly. If you allow offensive goaltending and not defensive, all teams would have to do is throw the ball up near the rim.
Once it's in the cylinder, rebounders could crash the boards and shove the ball back in the hoop, and defenders would be able to do nothing.
Imagine, the ball is rolling around on the rim, and the offensive player is allowed to shove it back in while the defender has to sit and watch him helplessly. You're not making sense.
