Is it possible for an NBA player to become a college basketball player?
Question:Let's assume that somehow a player got into the NBA without ever playing college ball and not signing an agent either. He plays for a few years and decided he wants to play NCAA basketball for whatever reason. Are there any rules that would prevent this from happening?
I don't see why NBA players should be barred from playing on NCAA teams if they don't play in the NBA at the same time. Is there some kind of rule stipulating that if you play in the NBA, you can never be a college athlete?
Answers:
So even if Lebron James decides to wise up and go to college, he can't play hoops for his school.
Who should be the NBA MVP this year?
I'm pretty sure that a professional cannot play on a college team. We would have colleges recruiting them just to win tournaments.Do the Bulls pull an off season move with Gordon?

NCAA rules require athletes to be "amateurs" in the sport in which they are competing. Signing a contract with any professional (or semi-professional) team in their sport makes them ineligible. So a player who competed for the NBA, the ABA, or a foreign league would not be allowed to compete in NCAA basketball. In some circumstances, they could compete in other sports (e.g. professional sprinters playing college football), but there is always a problem with endorsement deals, etc., from the professional sport. What do you think of the Rockets now, all you haters?
Like the other people above me mentioned, it is against NCAA policy. NCAA sports are considered at the amatuer level. Leagues like the NBA are considered professional.More Questions & Answers...
