If Dwight Howard went to college would he be a better player than he is now?
Answers:
Dwight Howard is a really good player, but he needs to get better on the defensive end.
He's really dominant in the NBA right now, despite not playing in college.
When you look at players who played college ball and those who didn't, there is a clear difference. Most of the players who did not play in college need more time to adjust... But then again, it differs with players.
I think Howard will be one of the most dominant big man in the NBA (more than he already is) in 2 or 3 years. Give him some time and good coaching and expect him to make some damages!
Who is your #1 NBA draft pick?(Why)?
It matters what college he went to.If he had a good a coach in college then he would be a better player then he is right now.He would be a beast on both sides of the floor.Holy crow GS beat the Mavs! How far do you think GS will get in the playoffs?
You now it really depends on the college if the college was someting like Duke or Ohio State then yes he would be a better basketball player. Not that he isn't nowit's just that in college they teach you the ways of the NBA ,it's rules and reguations and how can up your game tempo, he can grab alot of reboundsDwight Howard is a better player because he went pro instead of going to college. Duke players are usually good in college but struggle in pro game. In the nba all a player does is basketball with the best coaches. They get to work on conditioning, shooting, strength and they get to play against the best players in the world. In college players are allowed to practice for only 15-20 hours a week and they have to deal with classes and studies. Most of the players compete against have no shot of ever making an nba roster.
actually I don't think so, Howard is a special case along with LeBron James, these two were physically fit coming out of high school that they are ready for the NBA. Howard got playing time in the NBA unlike other player coming out from high school (which is what many think hurt the improvment of the players coming out of high school [the lack of playing time not practice time]).
Howard is already a good defensive player, 3rd in rebounds and 12 in block shots in the NBA this year, only his offence is struggling. If he went to college, there will be limited practice time, he would play the same amount of mintues per game (32min in his first season in NBA) but wih less games per season. The Magic had spend so much time to work with Howard on his offence and after 3 years, he is still struggling, I don't think any college would have been able to help him much more. Therefore, since Howard was physically competitive coming out of highschool, he was better off not going to college.
But give Howard 2 more years, in 2 years, Howard would be a monster
