Would that be the most shocking collapse in recent NBA history? Dallas finished with the best record in the league and if they can't beat the number 8 team that's pretty pathetic. I'm a Dallas fan, but Dirk as great as he is hasn't shown that he can lead the team to a championship. I'm hoping, but I'm not very hopeful. I think they'll be heading into game 5 down 3-1 and Don Meredith will be singing "Turn out the lights".

It would not be that shocking, because this is no ordinary 1-8 matchup. Nellie built this club, he knows Dirk, Avery and the organization inside out. If Clippers made it, then Dallas would have swept them. If it was any other team in the NBA, Mavs would win easily. It just had to be Nellie.

nah i dont think so.the warriors match up well cause theyre a high scoring team with a lot of depth on the wing. basically they can keep pace with the mavs offensivey.
as u said, the mavs were the best team in the competition, so for them to lose 4 games to the same team while not putting up a fight is a bit much to contemplate.
i cant see them losing too many games in this match up, i cant see dirk shooting 4-14 the rest of the way in. dirk is too good a player for that to happen. i do see the warriors giving them a hard time though. it will probably take one blowout win for the mavs to take back some of the edge the warriors have.
