Doe's anyone think mike tyson was the best boxer ever in his prime?
Conn fought a good chunk of his career at Middleweight and would probably be a super-middle today. He was a slick boxer and had fast hands, but was not much of a puncher(14 KOs in 75 fights). We've already gone over Burley, so no need to rehash. This one is a mind scrambler because so many things could happen. Burley seems to have everything Billy has, except Burley had some power. I'll take CB by decision, but I won't bet on it. Conn was a tough Pittsburgh Irish boy and knew how to fight. I'd need to see a 5 fight series between these two.
Two good chins. Burley would be giving up some weight as he never fought above 167lbs. Both slick boxers. I think Burley would outbox Conn taking a close decision.
Why was boxing so popular in the 20th century? And how did it become so popular?
Great match up, many intangibles. I'll take Conn in an upset. If he could handle Louis for 13 and 1/2 rounds I believe he'd have the guts to beat Burley by a split decision in a very close and competitive fight. Rematch?More Questions & Answers...
