He did become the WBO World Heavyweight Champion when he KOd Herbie Hyde in the 2nd Rd. on June 26, 1999. He became a two-time champion when he regained a piece of the title (the WBC belt) on April 24, 2004 this time defeating Corrie Sanders via 8th Rd.
