He beat Tyson and Holyfield, but Bowe was the one main fight that could've defined his career and made the boxing public respect him more if he had beat Riddick when Bowe was at the top of his game. Do you agree?

Yes, it does tarnish Lewis' legacy, whether Bowe ran from him or not. He never fought him in a professional bout. And as for him beating Tyson and Holyfield... both those guys were way past there primes. Lewis avoided both of them like the plague. Tyson in his prime would have knocked out Lennox(glass jaw)Lewis out in the 2 nd round. And Holyfield in his prime would have also knocked down Lewis in about the 8th or 9th round. Look, Lewis had one good fight, and that was against Razor Ruddock. Besides that, he fought fighters past their primes and got knocked out by two unknowns. He will not go down as a great Heavyweight. Then turning pro and beating the champion Evander Holyfield for his WBA/WBC/IBF titles, Bowe and Lewis have this confrontation just afterward. Bowe can clearly be heard threatening Lewis and PROMISING a match. Even saying "If it doesn't happen I owe you one." I suppose he owes Lennox.

Bowe didn't even hold up for long.no not at all .during the time that lennox was winning fights riddick had personal problems,even before it hit the news. lennox has beaten the beat of his time and i must say there were not any chumps! i like bowe but he would have lost also. lennox has done what he had to do to become the next member into the hall.

I think that the fact the fight never came off did hurt Lewis' career in a sense. Bowe was looked at as his main rival at the time and they were both in their prime. Two young, talented Heavyweights that should have fought as pros just like they did as amateurs. If he had beaten Bowe at that time, he surely would've had more respect from the boxing public than he has. Rock Newman, Bowe's manager at the time, has to take the blame for that as well as Bowe, because that's a fight that he should've made sure was made. It hurt Riddick's career as well. Lennox Lewis's legacy was tarnished after the way he reacted after Vitali Klitscho man handled him for six rounds. To get almost defeated and then talk trash followed by retiring without giving a rematch. I would have to agree that Lewis would have beaten Bowe though. The main thing that would tarnish his legacy is that his two defeats were basically one punch kos against fighters he should have beaten easily. He did come back to beat both fighters but should have never had lost to either especially Rahman.
