Get started in competitive boxing?
Im 15 years old and would like to start competitve boxing. I take a style of ju-jitsu that works mainly with hands and that work on fast hard punches. I've been doing taking many different martial arts before such as 6 months karate. 6 months tae kwon do. 3 ears altogether ju-jitsu I've been doing that running 3-5 miles daily lift weights. I spar alot against more exprenced adults. Basically what im wondering is if A. I'm to young to get involved competitively and B. If I would be ready to start boxing compettively at my level

Too young to start boxing competitively? No way! Most of these kids in the sport got started far younger... and have been competing for years already by the time they are 15. As far as being ready to fight competitively? Only the trainer you hook up with can tell you that. Throwing punches and learning combos shouldn't be a problem for you, but you will probably have to work on your stamina a lot more and do a lot of roadwork before you are ready to spar, and fight competitively.Who ever think randy ortin is a great fighter is a bag of bounce that ***?
it all depends where u live...go to your local boxing Club.Take a try- out course.train hard. Boxing matches will be set by the coaches and trainers of the club depending on age and the performance you give them.Compettive Boxing doesn't start as soon a you start training in a clubWere are they showing the De La Hoya and Mayweather fight?
First, you should not be sparring with adults. Second,agood certified coach would be able to to find matches according to your age, weight and level of experience.No coach should enter you into any tournaments (silver gloves,jr olympics,etc) at this timeMore Questions & Answers...
