If you were a fighter, would you fight Tommy Morrison?
He says he's HIV negative, would you put your health at risk to fight him for big money?
Answers:
It's a good thing to be popular?
The Insane Unknown ~Can we start with a purse including Fort Knox. I don't care what test Tommy and his people come back with. Tommy can be the nicest guy in the world (Which he's not) and sure he has the right to make a living doing whatever he wants to. If he wants to box, let him shadowbox.
Magic Johnson who is HIV Positive, sometimes when they check his blood work because of the AZT and other medications comes back HIV Negative (fact) but you don't see him running around telling people he's HIV Negative, and for the record, I wouldn't fight him either.
Thanks for the question Insane Unknown.
What fight was it in boxing when someone landed a ko punch but the bell rang?
No I wouldn't fight him. Yes the fear of him lying and doctors being wrong about this disease would be on my mind. But also what has he done for 3 years? Nothing to help a young fighters' career. The guys I expect to fight him are older guys whose careers are almost over. And their looking for a big payday to retire on.Alexis Arguello vs. Salvador Sanchez?
He says that he never had aids, that the test was wrong. What if the test is wrong this time and he really does have aids. Maybe the medicine he took is not showing traces ofd it but its still there.Omg!!!1 who is going to win oscar or floyd?//?
No I don't think that I would? Boxing is not a sport that you risk something like that, blood comes into play in almost every bout.Basketball, football, baseball, yes!
Who do you think won the De la Hoya v. Mayweather fight?
When Tommy Morrison was diagnosed, the testing process was not as developed as it is now. There were alot of factors that could result in causing a false positive statement. Morrison has stated that he knew that he did not live a lifestyle that caused it.It wasnt just the boxer that had to look over his health papers, the boxing commission has reviewed his testing processes as well to make sure that this didnt turn into a double jeopardy problem.
Its fairly safe to say that Tommy Morrison likely, because the tests are more accurate now, does NOT have AIDS.
Morrison was also an excellent fighter, although he has not done much in the last few years, he has enough raw talent to bring excitement into a dead heavyweight divison.
I say, fight on Tommy Gunn!
