That would be a very good match. Holmes is a very intelligent counterpuncher; Jack Johnson is also a counterpuncher.Both can go the distance; both know how to pace their energies effectively. Both have tremendous heart.

They were both tough, wily veterans when they won the title. Larry 29 and I think Jack Johnson was a similar age when he won his. I know in the heavyweight division you only get better around about the late twenties, early thirties but Joe Louis would have held the title for 7 years when he was that ageI'd go for Jack Johnson, only because of the tough environment he lived in and the length of rounds they had to fight.
