What fighter would have been most frightening to face?

Question:This question was asked but resolved before many people had time to answer, so I'm reopening it. Look under "resolved questions" for my answers: Ace Hudkins, Ad Wolgast and now that I think of him, Mysterious Billy Smith. All these guys would be looking not just to ko you, but hurt you badly before they do. Then they'd probably come looking for you AFTER the fight!

Guys like Sonny Liston and Mike Tyson would be scary, but quick(they'd probably ko you before doing any real damage). Just my point of view.

So be honest, folks. Who would really put the fear of the maker into you?

Aaron Pryor

39-1, with 35 KOs (and his one loss came 11 years after his pro debut and after a two year hiatus.)

What would intimidate me, during the ring introductions he would stand, stairing and pointing at his opponent until the bell rang.
Also, he always came forward and threw tons of punches.

In boxing is it a good stratergy to punch opponents in their triceps to weaken their arms?

Thomas Hearns had a stare the froze people, but Marvin Hagler's over all demeanor was just as terrifying.

A young George Forman had people back on their heels.

Roberto Duran had that look that made people wonder as well and Julio Cesar Chavez reminded the blogbaba of a Lion in a cage waiting for the door to open while he sat on his stool between rounds.

Even though I am not a big fan, I think early Mike Tyson had the highest intimidation factor of them all, even more so than Liston. Mike had people scared at the press conferences, and when the bell rang for the opening round it sometimes was enough to freeze them in place for a few seconds. Gotta give the pre-Douglas Tyson the nod.

Who were the black heavy weights that were not allowed to fight Rocky Marciano in their prime?

I'd be more afraid of a quick and hard puncher than a one puncher. Mayweather or Trinidad would scare me a bit more than Tyson or Frazier, but that's just me.

Who was the three best heavyweight boxers?

I want to get a heavy bag for boxing, how many pounds should i get?

Billy Murphy a fighter from New Zealand who was famous for the vast amount of "fouls" he used during his fights. Not once, however, was he DQ'd by the ref.

His use of "dirty" tactics lead to or contributed to the death's of 6 of his opponents. The last resulted in Murphy's arrest and imprisonment. If only someone had stopped him sooner four or five fighters would not have died.

That's the kind of fighter I'd be must concerned with. His nature along with the time period (late 1890s-1920s) made for quite a combination. The gloves were so flimsy on top of that you had guys sticking, shards of metal or rock in their gloves to try and really put a hurting on their opponent, that's scary.

What makes this particular case that much more appauling, is that this guy had over 200 fights (91 official with 78 of those by KO).
