Who has Joe Calzaghe fought that was truely skilled??
I'm wondering because i think he's overhyped, really. He beat "one-dimensional" Lacy and all of a sudden he's supposed to be the baddest man on the planet. Why won't he fight Kessler? Why won't he leave his home country to fight? If he wants to be considered one of the best, he's got to do better than this for me. He hasn't showed me anything, his last fight against Manfredo...wasn't even a fight. Manfredo's trainer wasn't even there and he looked like it was his first time. Its okay if you just wanna fight for the most money, but don't even part your lips to say you are one of the best and you won't even leave your country to fight! What kind of s#!t is that?!?!? I just want a couple of opinions. I really wanna see him fight Kessler.

Calzaghes beaten six world champions in his career, you cant be a world champion even in this day and age of multiple organisations without being skilled. Also as said by Preditor above Lacy was only considered one dimentional since his loss to Calzaghe before that he was being touted as an all time great, noone called him one dimensional back then. Sean you say why wont he leave his home country to fight? out of his twenty defenses 11 have been in Wales. Out of the other nine defences 1 has been in Germany, 1 in Denmark ,1 in Scotland and the rest in England. Fighting in England isent fighting in his home country as such for him. Its like saying an American fighter who often fights in Canada is fighting in his own country, hes not its just the same continent of land. By the way in Kesslers 39 fights only two have been outside Denmark and the vast majority of his fights have been in Copenhagen, most top American fighters wont fight outside America either, i know thats where the money is but when it comes down to it most of them wont fight abroad. Admittedly id like to see Calzaghe fight in america against one of the top fighters but noones exactly pushing to fight him. Also at this moment either Kessler or his management don't want to know, they were the ones that declined to face Calzaghe not the other way rouned.What you think about Mike Tyson exibition fight >?
Eubank and Lacy.Eubank and Lacy had skills believe me. All these Monday morning quarterback fans all say Lacy was overrated but how many of them thought (including myself) that Lacy was gonna walk right through Joe and it didn't happen? Remember, Lacy is a former Olympian. You don't make the Olympic boxing team without skills, thats foolish. Joe may be like Mayweather, guys with styles that arent the most pleasing to the fans because they havent been beaten or knocked out or even in life or death struggles in the ring. Until they are, they will be viewed as pretenders and they are not that at all. Joe Calzaghe is for real, and I think Mikkel Kessler is for real too, but come on people. Boxing is a business and big fights arent as easy to make as some of you seem to think. It's not always about just money but where the fight would take place, when, who would promote it, etc. Calzaghe-Kessler is as good a matchup as is out there along with Cotto-Hatton, Mosley-Mayweather, Pacquiao-Valero, Wright-Hopkins, and as long as fans demand these fights there will be pressure on their management to try and make these fights happen so let's talk about it and make them come off. PS Calzaghe knocks out Kessler within 10 in a fight of the year candidate if it comes off. As for Joe never leaving the UK let me ask you this, why dont most American fighters ever leave the US? Politics, money and the risk of losing a decision to someone on their home turf.
