This would be an epic battle between two heavyweight warriors. Louis will have a slight advantage in power, speed, and chin. Lewis will have the advantage in stamina and defense.I see the early rounds to be relatively boring. I feel that Lewis will take the early rounds. The middle rounds will be much of the same. Lewis will be cautious with Joe since he packs a hell of a punch. Lewis will keep him at bay with his jab. I feel that both men will split the middle rounds. By the final frames, Lewis will be leading in the scorecards. I think that Louis will finally start getting into the fight and drop Lewis. I think Lewis will be dropped at least twice in the championship rounds. We all know that Lewis does not have much of a chin. Ultimately, I see Louis winning either by late-round stoppage, or by majority decision.

Joe Louis. Whenever Lennox Lewis goes in for the KO and into Joe's wheel house, I don't know what round he would do this but he is going down.I think this could very well be a shoot out.
There are people who assume Lewis has a bad chin, which is a little hard on Lennox. Twice knocked out in his career. Lets not forget Joe Louis was put down about ten times, and by two fighters whom I would consider very average hitters (Jim Braddock and Jersey Joe Walcott).
Lennox was also crafty. He was pretty good at not letting you fight the fight you wanted. I also believe that getting inside to Lewis is not going to be that easy. A fit and focused Lewis is no easy task for any fighter. Was the Brown Bomber a better all round fighter? I would say yes. At some stage in the fight Joe has to feel the power of a Lennox punch. One explosive punch from Lennox could put Louis down, and in this case he might not beat the count.Of course its a certainty Lennox would be well and truly focused for this one.
However, what works against Lennox here is the fact that he is fighting Joe Louis. It's difficult to imagine the man who was so cautious against the powerful but molasses slow Tua or the aging Holyfield coming out all guns blazing against the Brown Bomber. He would, I think, try to use his height and weight advantage by keeping the fight at a distance, while leaning on and manouevring Louis up close, and he would have some success in doing so: he could and would hurt Louis with right hands from a distance and uppercuts up close. The fact is though Lewis' jab was not a consistent weapon and he is not going to keep the stalking Louis away for 12, let alone 15 rounds, and as he slows down, as he always did, I think Louis starts to catch him consistently with right hands. This would not be a one punch KO scenario; Lewis was sturdier than the McCall and Rahman fights made him look- he survived harder shots that he saw coming - but he can't ship too many and survive, and eventually he would fold.
Lewis was never a 'destroyer,' especially against guys he knew could punch and had the counter punching skills their shots. His two VERY tentative outings vs an old Holyfield tell me all I need to know in this fight. Lewis would come out tentative, looking to keep Louis at a distance with his reach and jab. Problem is, Louis was the best fighter ever besides possibly Dempsey at getting inside taller fighters and blasting them out with short, very fast punches. The moment Lewis throws that lazy jab low, Louis is coming over with a sharp right, stepping in, and blasting Lennox out with handspeed that he has never had to contend with.
This could potentially go either way, but I am going to give it to Joe on a KO in Round 3 or 4, on the basis that he did beat big punching Heavyweights who were about 30 pounds bigger than him. Given the powerful shots that both men possessed, I cannot see this lasting beyond 8 Rounds.

Interesting fight. Joe Louis is obviously one of the greatest heavyweight champs of all time holding the title for nearly 12 years. He possessed great power in both hands, had good hand speed, great ability to cut off the ring from an opponent, and once he had you in trouble , he was a strong finisher, and a good jab which set up his power punches. His only weakness was his chin as he did get knocked down several times in his career. Lewis is the bigger fighter and has good boxing skills and good power though not nearly as good as Louis. He is also known to have a weak chin and this would be his downfall against the "Brown Bomber." I see the first couple of rounds being about even with Lewis landing some jabs with his advantage in reach with Joe firing some good jabs of his own. In about round 6 Louis would catch him with a left jab, right cross combination sending Lewis to the canvas. He gets up but Louis pours it on and Lewis can't survive the onslaught and the referee raises Louis's hand in victory by 6th round TKO. Louis would slaughter Lennox in a 15 rounder. Joe is just too sweet with those fists back in that day. Lennox has a tendency to get too complacent. That's the reason why he lost to Olver McCall, a lucky Hasim Rahman, and despite the stoppage he got his tail handed to him against Vitali Klitscho. Louis takes this one over Lennox. Lennox was taller and had the reach advantage and a good right hand. Joe would look to get close and go to the body and land power shots with both hands. I don't think that Lennox' chin would hold up under the two fisted attack of Louis. If Oliver McCall and Hasim Rahman could KO Lennox, then i'm pretty sure that Joe Louis could've.
