Where/how to start boxing?
I have always wanted to take up boxing, my cousins do it, and I just want to decide exactly how to start. I don't have a gym close enough with boxing opportunities, so I would like to do it from home. I think hanging heavy bags seem better, but I'm not sure I have a ceiling that can hold it. Where is the best place to buy heavy bags (online?) and what should I use as instruction.also, how long until one starts with heavy bags? I'm considering joining the Navy, and a boxing background would be excellent, as well as the fact that it is great cardio. thanks!

Can you name three fighters that Don King got to throw fights?
Well i have a heavy bag in my workout room, our ceiling woulding hold it, so we tied rope around the wood planks in the attic and made a little hole in the ceiling, dropped the rope down and tied the boxing bag to it. You can find heavy bags anywhere. You can train for non-competive boxing at home, its easy and a great workout. See if your cousins will show you some techniques, if not try to find a dvd on boxing workouts or training. If you want to go competetive you will have to find a gym and be commited to it.
Good luck!
