does any one really think oscar really beat mayweather, mayweather dominated the whole 2nd half of the fight clearly .

Dominated? Sure buddy! To dominate you have to get the other guy in some kind of trouble in at least one round! Plus he NEVER landed a good combo! They where mostly one punch counters! How can you dominate when 90 % of the time you are on defense?Who else here loves the American Gladiator show?

This topic is quite old to some people but for me its still fresh in my mind and im still mad about the final decision.Mayweather didnt win. There's no way.
I understand mayweather was the 2:1 favorite BUT Oscar (at the time) was the champ.
I'm a strong believer that says if you want to BE the champ you have to clearly and decisively BEAT the champ.
Mayweather didnt clearly and decisively BEAT de la hoya. No fighter was ever in any real trouble BUT if a fighter was going to be in trouble it appeared mayweather was. Oscar was letting the punches fly and mayweather would hold on to him to wait to get separated by the ref because i honestly think mayweather felt he might get caught square with something good and hard.
Mayweather ran the whole fight. From one side of the ring to the other. Oscar chased him, one side of the ring to the other.
Oscar wanted it so much more. He never stopped fighting. It was impressive for me at least because i didnt expect de la hoya (who is getting so old) to be able to fight that kind of fight. I thought de la hoya might go defensive along with mayweather and the winner would be whoever got the best counterpunches in and looking sharper defensively. I'm glad to say he proved me wrong.
De la hoya definately won that fight because you cant tell me mayweather beat him.
I would have settled for a draw decision because i know its hard to judge a fight when one fighter is going the defensive route and the other is going total offense. but mayweather did NOT do enough to win the title from oscar. I took into account the different styles when i scored it and i STILL got 115-113 for de la hoya.
so i could have settled for the draw because i only had one round different so i could understand.

My none of your business, buddy you hit it right on the head. You have to beat the champ and Maywether didn't do that. The judge that scored the last round for Mayweather clearly has something aganist De La Hoya. He was the same judge that gave the fight to Tito Trinidad. De La Hoya got robbed. It was a political fight to get blacks back into boxing being the heavyweights are obsolete. The boxing organizations know that De La Hoya will never lose the Latino fan base in boxing but Maywether would've lost all respect with a loss and a 2nd fight would not bring any money like it will now.No way! De la Hoya should have won the fight! I did not see Mayweather dominate nothing in that fight. De la Hoya was the one pushing the fight, if it wasn't for him there would not have even been a fight!

Great, All the DLH crybabies are coming out of the wood works again. Mayweather won by landing cleanly and effectively, without throwing as many puches as oscar. The only offense Oscar had was grab onto Floyd and punch for dear life and Floyd blocked most of those punches. So yes there are "uneducated", in the terms of boxing, people who belive Oscar won because the crowd went Ooh and Aah every time Oscar moved his god damn feet, and they didn't listen to any of the post fight commentary from professional analysts who said Oscar lost for these such and such reasons.More Questions & Answers...
