4. He has captained UP to Ranji trophy champinships in tests and ODI's
5. He plays terrifically under pressure
6. He can field and save 20-30 runs
7. His absence in this edition of the world cup showed as the fielding was pathetic, the running between the wickets left a lot to be desired and there was no one to stay at one end as all big hitters went hammer and tongs and got no where
8. He was left out of the team to the world cup inspite of being the second highest scorer in the West Indies ODI's and scoring a big test century there. The series against West Indies should have been won had not Yuvraj Singh messed up the second ODI and the rain factor
9. He was the man of the series against Bangladesh last time

First of all Mohammed Kaif needs to be brought back into the team. His fielding and batting in the middle order are both important to the Indian side. He is considered to be the next Mohd. Azharuddin in the making in terms of his batting skills and his tenacity to lead. He should be in the team and a regular on top of that. He also needs to be given chances to lead the team in absence of the seniors as Yuvraj has done on several occasions. Yuvraj and Kaif are the future of Indian cricket and BCCI needs to groom them to be leaders of the future.

over de years i hv seen many captain n vice captains lay down just bcoz they ver nt performing upto dere par..dat's y they steped down n nw here v r sorting 4 a person who hasn't been a regular team member to b a vice captain!

also kaif used to come at 5-6-7 down ( i remember).... at dat time the situation demanded aggression n nt stratergy or planning.. at dat point is a person is accustomed to play at lower down den its nt xpected frm him to b stratergic himself bcoz his mind doesnt move dat way.. n at the field no doubt he is quite energetic.... bt he puts more emphasis on his fielding rather den batting..... n v can't expect a fielder frm ur vice captain...
while considering the facts dta he ws de captain of under 19 sumwat like dat.. at dat level mostly the selectors luk for those people who hv more experience den other counterparts so dat they can lead the zonal level team..
