Other teams like the West Indies, South Africa, Sri lanka, England, and India are almost quite capable of beating each other so it depends on how a team perform on a given day. To write off any team or declare a winner at this juncture is hasty and premature in my opinion.

I hope India wins. I kind of have a feeling that it will. But Sweety, you cannot really base it on just performance. Many factors count. I don't like how people put down India by saying high about Australia. I admit that they are a wonderful team, but they shouldn't be used as a tool to put down India. There were matches when the Australians lost. Numerous times we saw India put amazing performances on the ground..and yet lose. Remember the time when India was in South Africa, many many people complained about our players not practising. They were rather modelling and shopping. Of course you expect defeat then. After a string of lost series they put their sweat on to the nets and beat the West Indies. Can we always expect victory from a team? Our players might spend a ton of sweat while practising and go onto the field with great confidence, and lost in the end. Many times I spend nights doing projects and get full satisfaction that I will get good marks on it. Next day i go to school and see that the whole class's projects are about 10 times better than mine. Is this fair? I spend hours and hours working on it, having confidence that I will do good, and finally everything breaks down in a moment. One time I wrote a test and had 500% confidence that i will get great marks on the test, but I actually i did horrible on it. Another time I didn't write my exam to my full satisfaction, and I actually got 95% on it. I am saying though we put our 100% efforts in practising, we may not perform so well on the matches. The men in blue have to really really put some hard work and sweat into their nets. The pitch counts, the weather counts, the daylight counts, and mostly-your team of 11 counts. Did you see our 15 member squad. It looks like a great pacakge, but if you break down to little groups-the only good fielder we have is Yuvraj Singh-who just returned from an injury. We do not have Kaif and Raina. Some of the great fielding techniques Raina and Kaif use are amazing. Sometimes the whole winning of team is based on some of the great catches. We have good batsman and good bowlers-but what if the pitches are more favorable to the batting side, chances are that when we field we will miss out all the run outs, we may give several wides and we may let go 4's easily. A lot of these factors count and all we can do is hope that India wins and give our full support to the men in blue-even if they fail to meet our expectations.

The selectors say they had no one else suitable to choose, and that is apt description of the state of India's cricket infrastructure - a billion fans, eleven players, and not much in between.
