I'm 6'4" tall, what size road bike frame should I get?

I'm competing in my first triathlon this summer and don't have a road bike that really "fits" me yet. I'm 6'4" tall, what size frame do you think I would need?

Want to get a mountain bike, need advice?

To determine your proper frame size, you’ll first need to get an accurate inseam measurement . Stand with your back against a wall, your bare feet 6" apart on a hard floor,
looking straight ahead.
Place a book or carpenter’s square between your legs with one edge against the wall, and pull it up firmly into your crotch, simulating the pressure of your saddle while riding. Have a helper measure from the top edge of the book to the floor, in centimeters. (You can convert inches to centimeters by multiplying inches by 2.54.) Repeat two or three times, for consistency, and average the results to get your inseam length.

Proper frame sizing is more about arm and torso length than about height. A lot of people will tell you to gauge the frame size by how much crotch clearance to the top bar you have when standing astride the frame, but think about it - you don't ride the bike with your feet flat on the ground, so why should that matter?

Go to a bike shop and pick the frame size that puts you in the proper forward position when actually riding. Minor adjustments to that position can be made by changing out the handlebar stem once the proper frame fit is established.

LX index shifter?

I was actually interested in this myself as I have a friend that is 6'5" and one that is 6'8". Here are a few sights I found. Bicycle fitting isn't just about height, you have to take arm length and torso length into consideration, as well as how the bike is built, what angle is best for your back when leaning over the handlebars and so on. On the first one I am giving you, go to the link that says "Rider Height Best Fit Measurement" It looks like a good way to help you out. And the last link at the bottom, has a list of other places that might help you out. Good luck! :)

Flat tire on bikes?

As others have said before me, it depends as much on the length of your torso as your overall height.

I'm 6'5" and a triathlete, also. I started on a Giant OCR1 that I upgraded with aero bars w/bar end shifters. The frame was a "Large"; I had to put a longer stem on the handle bars and the seat tube was up pretty high but it was a great frame for me.

I recently upgraded to a Fuji Aloha 1.0. It is a 58 cm and fits me like a glove.

I would suggest that you go to a local tri (or bike) shop and talk to them about what would work for you. An aluminum frame w/carbon forks will work well for you. The forks will absorb alot of the road vibration and the frame will be stiff enough for any riding that you do.

Good Luck!

I bought a dyno roadster stretch bike/bicycle.?

My guess would be between a 22" and a 24". Mine's a 22" but i'm only 6'2

Hope that helps
