id like to see ullrich pull out a victory. I think Basso has the best chance... vino isnt as consistent in the hills as basso is. Hard to tell though... Vinokurov hasn't had as much of a supportive team as Basso has. Vino attacks every chance he gets.. he rides for himself but he hasn't had a good team behind him yet. The top contendors should be Ulrich or Basso. I would put my money on Basso as he will have the stronger team supporting. Also Discovery is pumped to win again after their dismal performance at this years Tour de France. While Jan has won it before it seems like Basso is well conditioned after the Giro every year and this will aide him for victory in the Tour.And no Floyd Landis is not going to win- he will not be there.

How about Alejandro Valverde? He has a great team and will have learnt a lot from the Vuelta a Espana just gone. I think he may have the measure of Vinokourov this time. Also, he improves every year. The long lay off and the uncertainty of a new time may hurt Basso. Not sure about Ullrich, perhaps too old, no team yet and not as good a climber as the other favoutites.More Questions & Answers...
