If you have a GPS or access to a GPS that would be the best most accurate way to measure your distance, speed and route. And they are extremely accurate.Then you can DL the information from the GPS to your mapping software that comes with the GPS and you can get a overall visual of your route.

You can buy a bike computer for under $20.00. They typically calculate your average speed/maximum speed/ride distance/total distance/time.
Or as someone else had suggested, use google earth. It is pretty good. You use the path feature and you just draw on the map where you have cycled and it will tell you the distance. You can also see calculate (manually though) how much climbing you did.
