How can i convince my parents to get me a new bike?
Get one that fits.Go to a local shop, tell them what you are looking for and let them help guide you.
Then go to several more if possible to get multiple opinions.
Buy one that doesn't cost much so if you don't like it you didn't waste a bunch of money. Brand will be only somewhat important.
Trek, Specialized, Cannondale, Giant...any one of the major brands would have something perfectly fine for you to start with.
Most importantly, get fitted on it correctly or riding will be uncomfortable as hell.
get a comftorable low weight one
Mountain bike in a Sprint Triathalon?
go for a low weight, comfortable bike that is spicifice for your riding style. it also depends on how much your willing to spend on it.Do you think Landis was on steroids? or does he really have a high testosterone level?
it depends if you want a racing one you should get a redline .if you want a freestyle get a s&m or a wethepeople. if you want a flatland get a dk transmitter. trust me ive been biking for 5 years already.Which bike is more reliable for jumps a haro, a redline, or a mongoose?
60in!?!?!? I think you mean 60cm. The trek website (www.trekbikes.com) has a dealer locater feature, just type in your zip code and it will come up with dealers in your area. Go to a local bike shop and tell them what you are looking for (touring, commuting, racing, etc.) and they will set up up with what you need. What is the worlds best mountain bike?
Make sure you get one that fits properly, 60 centimeters is pretty big!Go to a local shop and ask that they fit you for a road bike. Weight isn't so important when you're starting out, it's always possible to swap out wheels and other parts to make the bike lighter.
A Trek 1000 or 1500 would be a good starting point, if you've got your heart set on Trek. They won't break the bank and they've got good components.
I was in the market for buying a road bike last year so I understand your concerns.
First, let the people at a bike shop guide you. They will be able to fit you so that the frame is the right size. I am 6'4" and I have a 58' frame.
Second, Pick a frame material. There are many different frame materials out there and they range in prices. Most frames should be aluminum with Carbon fiber forks and seat posts. This will give you the best shock resistance and be best for comfort.
Third, After you have picked out a bike, take it for a test ride. I did a 25mile ride on mine before I decided to buy. Nothing compares to getting out on the road and seeing for yourself how it will react with you.
Fourth, Buy biking shorts or pants with padded seats. Your tush will be very sore if you are not used to riding for a good distance.
I bought a Giant OCRIII and I love it.
